The pimp hand has come down ...

And they still refuse to "get it" ...

Wear it proudly, honestly you socialists and liberals are always trying to run away from your monikers.

By the way, I'm conservative and proud of it.

I think after support of the bailout, most knowledgeable Americans realize that all the candidates are socialists.

The only way I can justify the government's bailout is that the government injected itself into the marketplace through the Community Reinvestment Act and screwed up the works so the government should take some responsibility for cleaning up the mess.

There's nothing wrong with being a conservative, liberal, libertarian, green, socialist, etc. but that wasn't my point.

The point is that some conservatives like to sling around the term socialism when they have no clue what it is.

See:

Palin, Sarah

Let's do some role playing. I am an undecided voter who wishes to vote for the candidate that embraces capitalism and free markets. Tell me why Obama is my candidate. Point to speeches he has made and legislation he has introduced or supported which prove that he is the better candidate to vote for.

Sarah Palin is governor of the only socialist state in the union.

And proud of it.

Just to review...

In August this year, a few weeks before being nominated for vice president, Sarah Palin said in an interview with Philip Gourevitch that Alaska is "set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs."

Hey spamster....

Wealth does not equal Socialism

Taxing excessively taxpayers to give welfare tax refunds is equal to Socialistic principles....

Collective ownership of resources is the very definition of socialism.

Really....

From the article spamster, something that Jilly I'm sure left out on purpose.

“Our state constitution—it lays it out for me, how I’m to conduct business with resource development here as the state C.E.O. It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans.”

For her part, Sarah Palin, who has lately taken to calling Obama “Barack the Wealth Spreader,” seems to be something of a suspect character herself. She is, at the very least, a fellow-traveller of what might be called socialism with an Alaskan face. The state that she governs has no income or sales tax. Instead, it imposes huge levies on the oil companies that lease its oil fields. The proceeds finance the government’s activities and enable it to issue a four-figure annual check to every man, woman, and child in the state. One of the reasons Palin has been a popular governor is that she added an extra twelve hundred dollars to this year’s check, bringing the per-person total to $3,269. A few weeks before she was nominated for Vice-President, she told a visiting journalist—Philip Gourevitch, of this magazine—that “we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.” Perhaps there is some meaningful distinction between spreading the wealth and sharing it (“collectively,” no less), but finding it would require the analytic skills of Karl the Marxist.

Ah yes the New yorker holds the same liberal opinion as you. Wow that's suprising...

Charging businesses taxes to take natural resources from a state isn't socialism. Taxing individuals excessively for no other purpose other to tax them to give to another economic class is socialism.

Wrong.
