Palin Power Strikes Back

Once again Sarah Palin defies the establishment, and sends a strong signal that American voters are not happy with the political status quo.

Joe Miller was a political unknown in Alaska – a no-namer running to be a United States Senator. His campaign lacked funds, name recognition, and overall enthusiams from voters. Also, he was running against entrenched Republican Party member Lisa Murkowski, a member of an Alaskan political family dynasty whose father was a recent former governor.

Then came an endorsement from Sarah Palin and the race changed for Joe Miller.

...Palin’s words proved quite effective in favor of the Joe Miller campaign, and now the political outsider underdog is poised to enjoy one of the most significant upsets in Alaska political history. With absentee ballots remaining to be counted, Joe Miller has a slim 2000 vote lead over Lisa Murkowski. By next week Alaskans and Americans will know if this political upset becomes reality.

Either way, the political influence of Sarah Palin and conservative Americans is undeniable, and will likely continue to play a very significant factor as the nation prepares to vote in November.

If Joe Miller is good enough for Sarah Palin, he'd probably be my choice also.

It would be cool if Americans could learn to think for themselves instead of following any politician's recommendation.

I'll bet all of these candidates just love her taking credit for their hard work in the race.

Jeezus.

It is interesting to watch Palin appearing to stand up to the established power brokers in the Republican party.

I wonder how surprised people like you will be when she finally shows her real colors and starts marching in lockstep with the RNC.

Joe may be the underdog in this fight (because by using the power of a politician’s incumbency after being given her Senate seat by her father, Lisa Murkowski has outspent Joe six to one), but Alaskans see through this and are recognizing Joe’s ability to be a real leader. Lisa Murkowski is endorsed by special interests and unions. Joe Miller is a man of the people, endorsed by the people. But as Alaska comes into its own, it’s important to remember that this election is not just about Alaska; it’s about our whole country. Remember, when it comes to the Senate, Alaska is just as important as California or New York. One vote is one vote. Our Alaska election affects the entire nation.

If true, then your own words speak to the significant influence of Sarah Palin.

Well done!!!

Interesting. So another newbie possibly headed to the Senate. It's a good thing.

Agreed - though the RNC machine is rushing in to try and save Murkowski.

That is what the anti-Palin folks so often don't know, or refuse to acknowledge - she has taken on the Republican Good Old Boy system in Alaska for years now.

What Democrat at the highest levels of politics has been willing to do that?

Or Republicans for that matter?

A very unique and interesting example is Sarah Palin. Big questions remain as to her future viability for political office, but her appeal and influence as a motivating factor in the upcoming midterm elections is undeniable. She, more than any other politician today, is helping shape the tone and temper of the voters...

Yeah! She sure showed them when she QUIT!!! :eusa_whistle:

I have a question

How does Sarah Palin know Joe Miller? I mean how did sho or her family find out about him?

I hope you guys are not picking "outsiders" because you lost faith in the establishment candidate. The E-candidate has put in time and effort and part of their life into shaping the party and political landscape--while the newbie is probably no more than a flash in the pants, a "one night stand" that has neither the political connections nor influence to get his ideas accomplished.

Go with the better connected candidate. Newbies like Miller won't be able to get anything done--because they are anti-establishment!

Murkowski was appointed to her Senate position by her own father - when he was elected governor of Alaska. Palin then defeated said father.

You knew that, right?
