Palin Draws 60,000 in Florida

You fricken tards are always lying. I live in Florida and the local news and St Pete Times said the Fire Marshall said there was about 25,000. Thats a big difference. It was also all angry vagina.

Since Mike Tucker, the Fire Marshall for The Villages where Palin actually spoke -is quoted by CNN as saying there were 60,000 and people were crammed in the streets and down side streets and in parking lots and there were far too many to even get in -exactly which "fire marshall" are you claiming said it was only 25,000? No reliable news source is reporting 25,000. But you keep looking for that one off-the-wall site that is determined to downplay her drawing ability by altering the number, ok? No doubt it will be the same one trying to tout Obama's drawing ability of just 1/3 that number although Palin is just the VP candidate and Obama is the Presidential candidate. LOL

From Adam C Smith Political Editor for the St Pete Times

"There was no official crowd estimate and unofficial estimates, from 25,000 up to 60,000"

I got my info from the biggest newspaper in this area, they already posted new articles and I couldn't find the one from earlier but you can go to Stpetetimes.com and click on politics and read for yourself. There are only 70k people in the villages. A 25-60k estimate is a huge range, if they had 60k old farts out there they must have been giving away free viagra and adult diapers. I hope you understand the demographic of "The Villages" Its an old persons community. Its definitely a demographic thats already wrapped up by the Republicans. Its like Barack Obama doing a rally in downtown Chicago. I did see on CNN that they said 60k but it kind of seems hard to believe and there are conflicting reports from other local news sources.

So in a whole community she drew 60,000.

Washington Wire - WSJ.com : Obama Holds Huge Rally in Oregon

Read THAT and weep. This is Oregon, imagine what he could do in Florida.

Bruce Springsteen was the headliner there. Most of the folks seem to have come for him. Both of them are very popular here in Portland. I have seen but two McCain signs in Portland, Obama signs are everywhere.

So it isn't a really fair comparison. Also, that was back in May. If he had another good headliner, he might get another large crowd.

Who was Sara Palin's headliner?

The Obama people also left a huge mess that didn't get cleaned up for a week. I understand that is SOP for them.

why are you all getting your panties into a knot over a crowd of 60K people in a state that historically speaking goes Republican and it wasn'tfor McCain even, it was for Palin.

She's a novelty... she's not the head of the ticket even so it's funny that the opinion is that this is a good thing for McCain. He can't even draw a worthwhile crowd most of the time.

You're right. She's not a big deal. Pay her no attention. I mean even Saturday Night Live ignores her and she's giving a big speech in New York today and nobody even cares enough to get her uninvited.:D

oh no, I think people are interested... she's a novelty but don't pay too much attention to her otherwise the Right screams sexism.

you want us to listen to her speechs but you don't want us to examine her record...

those crowds are like preaching to the converted... what about attracting swing voters? undecided democrats and independents?

so far, she's not having much luck doing that.

and again, I come back to the fact that alone McCain isn't drawing huge crowds....he's the top of the ticket... not Palin...

I just hope the people advising Obama are telling him the same thing.

Let's see how well she does on the pseudo debates.

If she isn't prepped, she isn't ready.

Oh, that crap she lied about her teleprompter failing, It was another lie.

There is something very wrong when they don't mind that they make up all these little lies to look better.

Of course, everyone who isn't radical right must be "in the tank" for the dems... how silly

Even the St. Pete Time's rag sports reporters can't help themselves:

Five signs the offense is improving.

5. Now allowed to make eye contact with Derrick Brooks.

4. No longer qualifies for government assistance.

3. Better caliber of groupies.

2. Has stopped asking what those poles and chains on the sideline are for.

1. Attacked in a McCain ad.

Insert "Obama" in the above and the writer would be accused of being racist and promptly fired.

The debates will probably finish McCain off, as he is an incredibly soporific speaker. They won't do Biden any good either, but no one is paying attention to him. And by early October The novelty factor for Palin will have worn off.

She is fun to listen to, but she is staying really close to her single message, so that will wear thin too.

One thing the democrats might worry about is she is one of those speakers who get the crowd going along with her. She is very much the revivalist there. She plays the crowd like a conductor of an orchestra. It is an amazing and almost scary thing to watch.

I have not liked McCain since the 2000 campaign, and I think it is great that he is getting marginalized like this

So like it or not, the debate for the neat future is between Obama and Palin. And I think Palin is doing a better job of bringing in the voters right now.

I live in Florida and we can't even vote right so its not surprising that many in my beloved state would go see someone thats about as bright as they are

We have til Nov. to get you transplanted New Yakers, and New Jersies up to speed. we'll work on it.

20% of voters will watch Friday night's debate. High stakes. If Obama makes no major blunder he probably wins as the topic is foreign policy. However if you watched 60 minutes last night you should not under estimate McCain on foreign policy. The man has a lot knowledge at his finger tips. Obama has only talking points and will playing not to lose.
