Palin Crashing Obama Surging?

Obama didn't surge until the primaries were in full swing. Having said that, I really doubt that Palin will be the republican candidate. She's a good fund raiser, like Obama is a good fundraiser....but neither are good or would be good for the presidency.

Agreed. Though Palin may serve well in an Appointment. Obama would fit well in Chicago Politics, where the will of the Party is all that matters.

Ambassador to Russia? :eusa_whistle:

lol, she could walk from her house!

I think Palin loves her spot as a "kingmaker" (in her own brain)...without the total scrutiny or responsibility of actually running. Power with no responsibility + moneymaking. She'll stay where she is.

I've been saying this for a while... I am 99.9% convinced she will not be running in 2012...

She holds no elected position, so she can swing at will against any policy she disagrees with... This has and will continue to make her $$, so I don't think she'd want to spend it running for President... There's a lot of money to be made making the left go nuts over her...

Wow, where do people get the notion that the Left is obsessed and terrified of Palin?

Mocking condescension =/= fear. Palin is no more feared than Joe Biden. That "Fear" muse is just an indignant little thing Republicans do to mask the epic stupidity of putting such a person in a potential position of power.

but she won't have to spend her own money to run.

you could be right. on the other hand, i think she's purely ego-driven. i don't think she'll be able to help herself.

but it would mean she has to stop being the tweeting twit and actually engage on a mature political level.

Lots of politicians spend lots (and/or perhaps "lend" lots) of their own money in a campaign... some even turn down fed monies...

remember, as an unelected pundit she has zero responsibility for any failed policies enacted by any side... More money and no responsibility?

That's why I don't think she will run...

you gotta love it, the only ones that have Palin running is the lefties and the Democrat controlled media.

they just can't help themselves.:cuckoo:

If you voted for Obama.... go look in the mirror and repeat that statement.

You idiots are so transperant.

You'll never guess who said: "Hawaii just isn't an American-sounding name, like Alaska."

And she has millions of right wing supporters and is considered a presidential candidate...

Excuse me while I LMAO over here.

Millions of right wing supporters?? Where??

Jeeze. The only supporters I hear about are the lefties on this board who are dying for her to run.

Guess they'll be disappointed though.

I don't think Palin will run. Why should she. She's a great fundraiser and can sure draw a crowd. In that capacity she will be an asset to anyone running for office.

Oh Well. If it makes you happy, carry on.

*He claimed that Kansas tornadoes killed a whopping 10,000 people: “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.

Heard it on MSNBC this morning so take it for what it's worth, but at this point in the run up to the '08 election it was gonna be between Hillary and Rudy. But the point is a lot can and likely will happen between now and when both parties have their candidates for '12.
I also heard this morning that Palin's negative rating is 58% - IN ALASKA, second only to very blue Massachusetts.

And they know her better than anyone.

Obama told a Portland crowd that Iran doesn’t “pose a serious threat to us”–cluelessly arguing that “tiny countries” with small defense budgets can’t do us harm– and then promptly flip-flopped the next day, claiming, “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.”

I can do this all day..... Obama is an idiot and until you lefties admit that, you have 0 credibilty.

Only because she took some state repubs to the wood shed. Disrupt the gravy train, get reduced support.

On that note the US will not cut spending or increase taxes in any meaningful way.

I don't know where morons live so why should I know? However if you're really curious you can do a google search for "palin supporters millions." It should return about 2.1 million hits.

Wait, let me guess, you're a dye in the wool Palin supporter...now everything you say makes sense...wink wink!

But will you accept the long-established constitutional doctrines that have emerged over the history of our country time through valid case law? These aren't IN the constitution, but are the logical result of applying a theoretical document to real life.

If you wont, then your answer is simplistic.

It's hard, to nearly impossible to get "valid case law".

Why?

Judges are put in place by politicans or by running on a party ticket.

Judges are people. Why do you think we are having obamacare declared OK in one state and unconstitutional in another?

so you're saying that the constitution which gives final power to determine constitutionality to the courts should be ignored?

No, of course not, not even close.

This is easy to explain.

How pissed were you when the SCOTUS gave equal rights to corporations?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you were livid.
But the courts said it's OK. Does that mean you have to support that?
It got passed in court by people that specialise in the Constitution...

Of course you don't. Judges have opinions on the Constitution, and sadly they can be changed with popular opinion.

Take abortion. It got passed due to the right to privacy. Every Conservative of faith lost thier minds and some that don't have faith.

But it got passed on opinion.

If people want to make/add laws that they think is Constitutional, then they also need to be prepared to remove laws.

It's a strange system that we make work. Majority rules unless one judge says otherwise.

Personnally I'd rather go with Majority rules, win or lose, and leave most of this up to the States.

she's far more divisive than obama.I disagree. I have never seen nor heard of a more divisive Pres than obama. independents would chew off their own arms before they'd pull the lever for her so you're depending on me? How sweet.

you don't have a 'puppet' as you put it unless you have the votes to override a veto.

that isn't going to happen.

Then that leads to the best of the best of my political dreams; :eusa_drool:

Gridlock in DC. Nothing gets done so they can't make things worse. :eusa_pray:

and therein lies the ultimate difference between us. i don't hate government. and people who do hate government should never be in power.

as for divisiveness... i will try to find the numbers. no question that the right hates obama, but the middle doesn't. they voted for him and will do so again if the economy keeps turning around.... the middle will never vote for palin. she's now even dividing republicans (see o/p).

so i think you're seeing it through partisan colored glasses.

Isn't it strange that all the politicians who run on hating government keep running to get re-elected to government.
