Fox News Poll: Palin Going (Not So) Rogue

Despite being characterized by many as a divisive force in her party and the nation, former vice-presidential contender Sarah Palin gets a much higher positive rating than Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi -- and most think Palin has been treated unfairly by the press.

...Palin has been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2012, along with a host of other Republicans. Among self-identified Republicans in the survey, Palin gets the highest favorable ratings (70 percent) amid a group of other possible contenders for the GOP nomination, including Mike Huckabee (63 percent), Mitt Romney (60 percent) and Newt Gingrich (58 percent). Palin's favorable score among all voters is 47 percent, up nine percentage points over last July's reading of 38 percent.

...President Obama recently stated that he "probably won't" read Sarah Palin's new book. But his possible opponent in the 2012 elections trails him in personal favorability by only seven points (54 percent to 47 percent). Among the critical segment of independent voters, they are virtually even (Obama at 50 percent; Palin at 49 percent).

I like Sarah Palin and i think what the Liberals did to her & her children was unforgivable but the Republicans better start looking elsewhere for their future candidates. She's just not a viable solution for the Party. The Republicans can do better. Many common sense thinking Americans are already sick of what the incompetent Socialists are doing to our nation,so it wont take much to give the Socialists the boot in coming Elections. The Republicans just need to come up with more viable candidates. Sarah Palin is a strong & intelligent Conservative woman but she has absolutely no chance of winning in 2012. Time to move on and start looking for others to win in 2010 & 2012. That's my take anyway.

That is the primary agenda right now - 2010, and those wheels are very much in motion.

Palin is playing an integral role in defining the topics of concern for 2010, and doing a very good job of it.

-Economy/Defecit/Big Government
-Energy
-Military/Safety/Afghanistan-Iraq-Iran-N. Korea/....
-Economy/Deficit/Big Government

By summer of 2010, we will see a clear trend for Republican victories in governorships and Congress that should prove enough to slow the onslaught of the Liberal Democrats. At that same time we shall see the actual field of candidates for 2012 stepping forward.

Much-much-much work and insider positioning is going to take place between now and then...

Yea she can help but she should not be a candidate in 2012 and for God's sake lets stop talking about Newt Gingrich running as well. Time for new blood. Younger and more energetic real Conservative Candidates are the answer. It really isn't going to take much to give these Socilaists the boot in future Elections. They have been a real disaster and most common sense thinking Americans understand this. The Republicans just need to run some better candidates and it shouldn't be too hard to get rid of the Socialists. Hey just my opinion anyway.

That is hilarious. When has Palin EVER given a detailed comprehensive description and explanation of her stance and what she would do on ANY of those issues?

I don't hate her. I just want my president to be smarter than me.

Unless you have the smarts of a turnip, this one, as well as the last three, have been real disappointments to you then?

No, they weren't. Even George W. Bush wasn't stupid. His problem was allowing others to lead him around by the nose. Now I fear Obama is under the same type of influence. Clinton is brilliant.

Those three issues will be on anyone's agenda. How she would define resolving them is another story.

Interesting thread. I wonder if those who claim Palin is a dummy or not worthy of a leadership position, would care to explain why she was so successful as an executive? Or, maybe why she wasn't, yet those she served more than approved of the job she did for them!

Palin was the most Socialist candidate of all last election considering her time as Governor of Alaska.

That is actually a very good comment - and absolutely correct.

At present - we have no elected officials defining those issues with any real semblance of clarity or purpose.

The current Democrat Congress is a shambles of special interest big government non-solutions, and the Obame White House appears stuck in uncertainty far too often, while giving a litany of seemingly endless speeches that while talking a whole lot, never actually say anything.

Palin appears to be cutting through that muck just a bit - but she too will need to get far more solution-detailed if she wishes to be taken more seriously. (although we must remember that Obama himself was elected on mere and oft-repeated political platitudes)

At any rate, the momentum, if not fully shifting, has definitely reached slack tide as the more and more Americans are paying attention to the legislative specifics - even more than they were during the 2008 campaign. An increasing nervousness and dissatisfaction with the increasingly liberalized political agenda of DC is indeed underway...

Palin is a threat to them, and they know it. If she was so damned innocuous as they claim? They'd let her implode on her own. It's how these people operate. They complain and say someone means nothinb bu harp on it.

They're so stupid that they don't realize it.

Mike

Her approval ratings were plummeting by the time she quit....I'm not sure those she served "more than approved" of the job she did for them.

Some interesting stats from the beginning of this year: Is Palin still Alaska's most popular politician? | The Alaska Standard

Noticed the Limbaugh quote in your tag.

That is an interesting way to look at it!

And you are correct - if Palin was not a threat, she would be largely ignored. Quite the opposite is happening - the left is obsessed with her...

You Palinites might be the most delusional of us all.
Not so long as there are Barryworshipers.

Exactly.

It is such a rare thing to see Obamaphiles in here actually call out Obama and/or the Dems for a failed policy - they are simply incapable of it.

Conservative Independents on the other hand voted out Republicans en masse in 2006 and 2008...
