Fox News Poll: Palin Going (Not So) Rogue
by Ernie Paicopolos
, FOXNews.com

Despite being characterized by many as a divisive force in her party and the nation, former vice-presidential contender Sarah Palin gets a much higher positive rating than Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi -- and most think Palin has been treated unfairly by the press.

...Palin has been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2012, along with a host of other Republicans. Among self-identified Republicans in the survey, Palin gets the highest favorable ratings (70 percent) amid a group of other possible contenders for the GOP nomination, including Mike Huckabee (63 percent), Mitt Romney (60 percent) and Newt Gingrich (58 percent). Palin's favorable score among all voters is 47 percent, up nine percentage points over last July's reading of 38 percent.

...President Obama recently stated that he "probably won't" read Sarah Palin's new book. But his possible opponent in the 2012 elections trails him in personal favorability by only seven points (54 percent to 47 percent). Among the critical segment of independent voters, they are virtually even (Obama at 50 percent; Palin at 49 percent).

I can just see the fear of Obama here in this OP. That's why you can't stop talking about him because you are so afraid of him winning the WH again in 2012.

From another recent article regarding Palin's considerable popularity vs the declining ratings of the liberal media...
___

What is it about Palin that sticks in the craw of liberal journalists? Perhaps the same thing that has always annoyed them about Rush Limbaugh: Sarah Palin doesn't need their help, and all their efforts to harm her appear impotent.

Her media enemies cite polls to demonstrate that the former Alaska governor is unpopular. Yet her book is a bestselling blockbuster, while anti-Palin outfits like CBS, MSNBC and CNN are the least-popular TV news organizations in America. And as far as Republicans are concerned, Palin is infinitely more popular.

...Given the mindless ferocity of liberal hatred focused on Palin, she can never expect the media to treat her with the reverential deference that Obama customarily receives from reporters. All she asks is that they stop "making stuff up," but even this seems too much to ask, causing her critics to accuse her of "whining."

Fortunately, she won't need any favors from CBS or CNN to reach thousands of Americans face-to-face in the coming weeks, as she embarks on a national book tour that is sure to attract massive crowds at every stop along the way. Palin announced the schedule, as she announces everything else, on her Facebook page, which has a readership larger than Andrea Mitchell's MSNBC audience.

Why do they hate her? Because Sarah Palin is guilty of a sin for which liberals can never forgive a Republican: She's more popular than they are. And everybody knows it.

palin cannot even catch a break, how would she catch obama?

If Obama's popularity plummets much further, I'd say she has a pretty good chance of surpassing him - even if most of us think she's a blithering idiot.... we think the POTUS is about on a par.

Wow, Michelle Obama, the woman that "hates her country" is more popular than the quitter?

Who would have thought?

See? Fear! Fear! Fear! You are terrified of Obama getting a second term. That's why you keep talking about him.

(BTW...the Head Cheerleader at my HS was the most popular too....but that wasn't necessarily something to emulate. Just sayin' )

Palin is far from a blithering idiot.

Far more plain spoken than we are accustomed to with our national politicians to be sure.

She lacks the broad based policty knowledge of some of her political contemporaries - but also appears to have a stronger core of common sense instincts.

Palin continues to fascinate - both those who support her and those who demean her - and those who are not certain are now unable to ignore her...

The guy who towed my car the other day has excellent common sense and was very plain spoken. He knows his current events in politics, too yet has a strong core of common sense instincts.

You Palinites might be the most delusional of us all.

This is ultimate case of 'hey she looked great at 1 am Saturday night.' Now the right is stuck with her, hungover, on Sunday morning; they can't figure out how to get rid of her, and worse yet, can't bring themselves to admit they want to.

Then perhaps the tow truck driver is far more qualified to be president than Obama?

All kidding aside, at least you are not engaging in the all too simple anti-Palin rhetoric.

Palin is the single most talked about political figure in America at the moment - why that is is open to speculation, but the fact remains, every single news organization is reporting on this Palin moment -and while Obama continues to stumble in the polling data, Palin's star is rising.

Will that prove sustainable? Too difficult to project. What is more clear is Palin's considerable influence on both the national political dialogue and well as the re-awakening of Conservatism in America. It is that re-awakening that is most important to America as a whole, and will prove most influential in the upcoming 2010 election cycle.
