GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) received a formal invitation to visit the Scottish Parliament during a visit by a delegation from the Scottish Parliament to the PLC in Gaza city.

The delegation was met by Dr. Ahmad Bahar, the PLC first deputy speaker, Dr. Jamil Majdalawi, MP Yahya Al-Abadesa, and MP Hussam Al-Taweel.

On her part, Scottish MP Pauline MacLean hoped to succeed, during the visit, to invite PLC members from the West Bank and Gaza to visit the Scottish and British Parliaments. She showed resentment for the ongoing siege on Gaza and the difficulty in arriving to Gaza, noting that she spent an entire week in Egypt trying to visit the Strip.

Dr. Bahar welcomed the invitation, assuring that he would communicate with Dr. Aziz Duwaik, the PLC speaker. “We will make efforts to ensure success of this invitation,” he commented.
