'Palestinian collaborators' executed by Hamas

GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Ahmed Bahr, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC), said Friday that the execution of collaborators who were sentenced to death lately was fully consistent with the Palestinian law and constitution.

In a statement, Dr. Bahr explained that all legal procedures and standards followed against those who found guilty of spying for Israel, whether with regard to investigation, trial and execution, were enforced according to law and constitution.

In the same context, the Palestinian Ahrar Movement stated that the death sentences which were enforced Thursday morning in Gaza against two spies involved in the assassination of many resistance leaders during the Aqsa intifada were a must for deterring everyone tempted to collaborate with the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.

The Movement added that this step would constitute a bulwark for the resistance and would extinguish the fire of pain and fury in the hearts of the families whose sons and daughters were killed because of those collaborators.

Dr. Ahmed Bahr is the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian parliament. He is probably familiar with the law.

BTW, is there a source for that video. Road 90 is an Israeli site.

There is no real Pallie parliament. There is no Pallie government. Were it not for Israel protecting the PNA, Hamas would overtake them.

You are correct there. If it were not for Israel that dictator, Abbas, would be out and the elected government could take over.

Ahmed Bahar, the New Legal Palestinian President According to the Palestinian Basic Law, as Abbas Ends his Term in Office Today

Background information by Hassan El-Najjar

Today, January 9, 2009, the legal term of office for the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas comes to an end, according to the Palestinian Basic Law (the Palestinian Constitution).

According to the Palestinian Basic Law, presidential elections has to be held before the end of the president's term in office. However, President Mahmoud Abbas did not hold presidential elections, in violation of the Basic Law.

In this case, the Palestinian president's office is legally vacant. The Basic Law states that the Speaker of the Legislative Council (Parliament) automatically becomes the legal president. However, the Speaker of Parliament Dr. Aziz Al-Duwaik has been kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces, in order to prevent him from assuming the presidency.

As a result of the kidnapping and detention of Dr. Al-Duwaik, his Deputy Dr. Ahmed Bahar becomes the automatic President for sixty days until new presidential election is held and a new president is elected.

From the article Jillian posted
Palestinian courts officials on Sunday said a Palestinian woman suspected of spying for Israel may be sentenced to death.

The officials said the 22-year-old woman worked as a collaborator after obtaining a divorce from her husband, who forced her to work as a prostitute, making her a social outcast in Palestinian society.

Palestinian military judge Abdul Karim al-Masri said the woman confessed to passing low-level information and refused a lawyer. "She didn't hurt anybody except herself," he said.

Honestly, I try my best to give the benifit of the doubt to the Arab position, but things like this make me believe that Israel is a small and flickering light in the midst of dark and scary nations.

you are quick to condemn about, perhaps, up to ten lives... but, when israel cast leads the unwanteds, including more civilians than will die by hamas this year, you turn a blind eye.

consistency sure is antisemtic.

Stoner, you know less than zero about the Middle East. King Hussein murdered more Pallies in just a few months in Black September than Pallies who have died in conflicts with Israel in 60 years.

I am the former commander of the British forces in Afghanistan. I served with NATO and the United Nations; commanded troops in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Macedonia; and participated in the Gulf War. I spent considerable time in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, and worked on international terrorism for the UK Government’s Joint Intelligence Committee.

Mr. President, based on my knowledge and experience, I can say this: During Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli Defence Forces did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.

Israel did so while facing an enemy that deliberately positioned its military capability behind the human shield of the civilian population.

Hamas, like Hizballah, are expert at driving the media agenda. Both will always have people ready to give interviews condemning Israeli forces for war crimes. They are adept at staging and distorting incidents.

The IDF faces a challenge that we British do not have to face to the same extent. It is the automatic, Pavlovian presumption by many in the international media, and international human rights groups, that the IDF are in the wrong, that they are abusing human rights.

The truth is that the IDF took extraordinary measures to give Gaza civilians notice of targeted areas, dropping over 2 million leaflets, and making over 100,000 phone calls. Many missions that could have taken out Hamas military capability were aborted to prevent civilian casualties. During the conflict, the IDF allowed huge amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza. To deliver aid virtually into your enemy's hands is, to the military tactician, normally quite unthinkable. But the IDF took on those risks.

Despite all of this, of course innocent civilians were killed. War is chaos and full of mistakes. There have been mistakes by the British, American and other forces in Afghanistan and in Iraq, many of which can be put down to human error. But mistakes are not war crimes.

More than anything, the civilian casualties were a consequence of Hamas’ way of fighting. Hamas deliberately tried to sacrifice their own civilians.

Mr. President, Israel had no choice apart from defending its people, to stop Hamas from attacking them with rockets.

And I say this again: the IDF did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.

Stoner, you're done. Go and play with your imaginary friends.
