this is totally bizarre.

last night, Biden was like a junkyard attack dog, showing up everywhere, and on every network, to defend his boss.

Palin was totally AWOL, even though the networks begged her to appear to spin for her boss.

Why doesn't the GOP even trust Palin, the alleged pitbull with lipstick, to defend her own boss on one of the most important nights of the campaign season?

CNN, Wolf Blitzer:

"We've been getting some emails from views out there wondering why we spent some time interviewing Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee and not Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee. We would have loved to interview--we'd still love to interview Sarah Palin. Unfortunately we asked, we didn't get that interview...We're hoping that Sarah Palin will join us at some point down the road."

I'm told that Biden appeared on every major network tonight except ABC (which only turned him down because Palin wasn't available, on an equal-time sort of basis).

It's pretty strange when a candidate can't trust his own running mate to be out there spinning on his behalf.

I think your question is answered .... with your last question. Just re-worded a tad. :)

Hope you do not mind me editing your question. :eusa_shifty:

well, I guess cons don't know either, why palin couldn't come out of hiding to defend her boss, on one of the most important nights of the campaign.

so that pitbull with lipstick crap was all just phony bravado.

She's a pussycat with lipstick

He didnt need defending

 in every debate I've ever watched, afterwards the running mate of the candidate comes out and talks up their partner. It's called political spin for a reason...

They can't trust Palin to not talk about Putin "raising his head and flying over Alaska"

Poor pathetic Palin, she's lost in a sea of big dogs 'n doesn't know what to say, she's lost the election for McCain. Who can trust his judgment now?

I think its called "building and maintaining low expectations". Look at all the people insisting McCain doesn't even trust her to speak in public, is hiding her because she must not be any good, is an "idiot", "stupid", in over her head and an embarassment to his ticket etc. When Palin ran for Lt. Governor in Alaska during the Republican primary -she ran against 4 other Republicans including the well known incumbent Republican. She was a total unknown who had been just a very small town mayor and had the smallest campaign budget of all 5. She was very last in the polls. But she finished 2nd to the incumbent -but not until after the debate where she impressed many people. She challenged the incumbent Republican governor for his office when he was running for re-election. As a result of the debate during the Republican primary -she defeated the incumbent and became the Republican candidate for governor. You can watch that Republican primary debate yourself and tell me if this was a woman who didn't have a clue. Alaska Republican Primary Gubernatorial Debate 193920-1 : C-SPAN Video Library | Created by Cable. Offered as a Public Service.

Her debate with the Democrat and Independent candidates for governor was no less impressive. Alaska Gubernatorial Debate 195195-1 : C-SPAN Video Library | Created by Cable. Offered as a Public Service.

(Both videos are lengthy and takes a while to get to the meat in them.)

Those who think an idiot and fool is going to show up for the debate are wrong. She is anything but. No fool and idiot governor is ever going to garner an 80% approval rating from their constituents. Biden referred to her as "Lt. Governor Palin" no doubt as a way of trying to diss her by "demoting" her -and foolishly admitted on Meet the Press that he didn't know anything about Palin's record. A lot of people are expecting an incompetent ditz who will fumble and stumble throughout the debate to show up -hoping to watch Biden hand her ass to her. That expectation has been DRIVEN by the left who have been insisting she is stupid and an idiot. And because they have done that it now means simply holding her own will make her the debate winner. Doing even better than that will be a major victory.

The debate questions won't be Couric's stupid repeated demands that she name X number of reform legislation bills off the top of her head that McCain worked on in the last 29 years so people can pretend she is out of her league because she doesn't have every detail of McCain's career committed to memory in preparation for such a dumb question -but about the ISSUES. It won't be some biased "journalist" acting smug and then totally misstating the Bush Doctrine and acting like Palin was the bozo for not knowing his own misinterpretation of it. I don't expect Biden to be asked about specific details of Obama's time as state senator in Illinois either -but about the issues.

I look for Palin to be in the public eye almost constantly after the debate until election day -because it looks to me like McCain had a strategy of keeping Palin under pretty tight wraps to prevent "Palin burnout" with the public being overexposed to Palin before election day.

Now if she totally sucks and falls apart during the VP debate, then she deserves any resulting criticism. But I don't expect her to be less prepared for this debate than she was for the Republican primary debate for the Lt. Governor's race, the Republican primary debate for governor and for the gubernatorial debate against the Democrat candidate.
