Paging Donald Rumsfeld

Read the articles you link to Jackass

Bin Laden wasn't the target and the mission was called off because it got too complex and dangerous

What it proves (what we knew already) is the emptyness of the Bush Administration's rhetoric:

"Make no distinction between terrorists and the nations that harbor them--and hold both to account."

"We will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists. From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime."

And yet the unread article still says the mission got too big and complex

In other words, Rummy and Bush were pussies. Thanks....

They were no Barack Obama, that's for sure

And if having a care for the viability of the mission and lives of the soldiers you send into combat makes them "pussies"...

Nowhere in the unread article does it say they passed on whacking bin Laden

Similar, not exact.

Why didn't Rumsfeld pull the trigger?

Not that you'll accept this as an answer, but this was before we started to realize that Pakistan was blocking our every move.
They would have denied our entry. We weren't ready to rock that boat.
So what would have been accomplished by informing Pak that we were coming only to find out that they'd tipped TDM's "boogeymen"?

Another thing I give Obama credit for; he sent the SEALs in without asking Pak's permission.
The story would have had an entirely different ending if Pakistan had known we were coming.

The fucker is dead. So what has changed significantly in the area or the world for that matter other than Obama trying to take credit so he can get re-elected?
The intel collected from his hideout enabled Obama to get the leader of al Qaeda in south Yemen the other day.

It also removes a major source of funding.

But go ahead and keep wishing bin Laden was still alive, just so you could claim Obama didn't keep his promise to track him down and kill him. You know you do.

Maybe before the Neo-Con incompetents realized it, but Democrats have been saying it since Musharef was president.
