Bank of America is known for their dubious foreclosure schemes, and infamous like nearly every other major bank for hidden fees to get more money out of depositors. They also received bailout money, which was funded by our taxes.

They made an over-sized check written out to the people of California. C'mon, use your head. They didn't actually expect to get an sizable amount of money from this. They did it to make a political statement. Keep in mind, the article in the OP says the ten who were arrested were only arrested after refusing to leave the bank.
