Over Two Thousand Six Hundred Activists Arrested in US Protests

Since President Obama was inaugurated, there have been over two thousand six hundred arrests of activists protesting in the US. Research shows over 670 people have been arrested in protests inside the US already in 2011, over 1290 were arrested in 2010, and 665 arrested in 2009. These figures are certainly underestimate the number actually arrested as arrests in US protests are rarely covered by the mainstream media outlets which focus so intently on arrests of protestors in other countries.

They were probably arrested for public drunkenness, nudity or urinating in the street.

Remember the 1971 May-Day anti-war protests in Washington?

The rounded up so many people during that anti-war protest they held them incarcerated in a foot-ball stadium!!!!

Remember Chicago Days of Rage protests during the Democratic convention?

Tens of thousands were arrested and BEATEN in one day in those events.

This complaint is much ado about nothing.

If you folks want to evalute TODAY, its helps to remember something about the PAST.

If nothing else that gives you something to compare today to!

In order to understand where we are, it really helps to know where we WERE.

Also remember that with the some of MLK protests the intent WAS to get arrested, and to go to jail, and to serve time, in the attempt to shame society into facing situation.

Getting arrested used to be a badge of honor among protesters, now whiny hipster douchebags go screaming for mommy/daddy's lawyer the second the nylon "handcuffs" go on.

There were multiple huge anti-war protests in D.C. during the Bush Administration. Nowadays, even though we are headed into our 4th war, not so much.

The anti war protests will ramp up to those same levels as soon as the kids they start drafting (or rather when/if they start drafing) to fight their wars start coming home in body bags.
