I love my insurance. My company has stated in an internal memo, which I wasn't even suppose to hear about, that once Healthcare reform is passed, and if a Public Option is available they may drop their Major insurance Carrier for all their employees but possibly executives. As it stands now the insurance is free for the employee and only $170.00 a month for an employee's entire family. The company will simply pay the fine,(about $750.00 per employee, which they will make back in three months or so). I don't blame them. They can use the excuse of declineing revenues and the state of the economy. Even though they still are very profitable. If this company does this, just imagine how many others will do it. Its a bottom line issue, can't blame them, I mean it will save the company many millions a year. I guess I will then have to turn to rationed health care like those poor people in Canada.

Oh the humanity..... You just now discovered your true worth to your company?

I wouldn't tell everyone.

This is exactly what Obama wants, although he will never admit it. His ultimate goal is to put everyone on a government plan and be in total control of the health system. Of course, government elected officials would be exempt from this plan. But with that in mind, a thought came to me yesterday. Who is the government insured with? We know the proposed health care bill as it stands today would significantly hurt insurance companies, possibly putting them out of business. So couldn't the insurance companies that write the Government benefit plans just threaten to drop their coverage if they pass this bill? That threat alone would snuff out this bill. Afterall, we know there is no way our elected officials would lower themselves to share the same health coverage as the citizens they represent.

As the cost for health insurance continues to spiral out of control, your employer will soon not be able to afford it period. Costs in real dollars have nearly doubled in the last fifteen years and will do so again in the next fifteen, making it nearly impossible for employers to maintain.

Here is an interesting question for you. If your employer gave you all of the money they spend on your health insurance, how would you spend it? Would you spend all of it on a similar private health plan that was equal in cost? Or would you try to find a cheaper policy and keep a little of that money for yourself?

No biggy. They can just go out and find better jobs with even better benefits in America where anything is possible.

If they lost their jobs or insurance, it is their fault. They should have thought about that before they picked that career. Remember saying that about labor who's jobs went overseas? Well these people need to suck it up and go find work somewhere else. Not the governments responsibility. Anyone who cries is a whiner.

Hey, the corporations control the process, you, the politicians, me, us, the economy, etc.

Yes, they can take the economy down whenever they want. And now they get to put the blame on the Dems. They like the unemployment because it brings wages down.

Good luck when you put the GOP back in charge. :cuckoo:

Damn man! ...Anybody in charge is better than who is in charge now!....In just six months look how screwed up everything has become...like in just six months Obama has spent more money than any President in history and I'm talking full terms! He's tells Us its nessary...its a master plan to bankrupt the country..and then re-build the USA into a socialist economy by monetizing the debt...look in the future..about 12 months..inflation will be crazy. When a loaf of bread cost you 4 bucks you'll still love your Obama?...

We have a small plumbing business and pay half the premiums of BC/BS for our employees. We used to pay 100% until it became unaffordable. As much as I am opposed to national health care, we will discontinue with BC/BS. We are certainly not alone. The private insurers will only be able to keep govt employees and the unions. And the super-rich. Just as Obama wants it.
