‘Outrage’ over fed EBT push for aliens​

Local lawmakers are fuming over an Obama administration policy promoting welfare and EBT benefits for immigrants, with a “welcome” package and promotional website that encourage new arrivals to take advantage of the nation’s generous government largesse.

“I think it’s a complete outrage that we’re encouraging people coming here to get on public assistance,” said state Rep. Shaunna O’Connell, a Taunton Republican who has fought for EBT reform. “We should be encouraging people to be self-sufficient. These programs are rampant with fraud and abuse.”

The fight over welfare for recent immigrants is unfolding in Washington, where a group of GOP senators has sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Thomas Vilsack demanding answers as to why food stamps and other welfare benefits are being promoted to new immigrants. The agency’s Welcome toUSA.gov website includes a comprehensive handbook directing immigrants on how to obtain food stamps, Medicare, disability and other taxpayer-funded aid.

“The federal government now is giving packets to people when they come to the United States ... that promote welfare benefits,” said U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, an Alabama Republican and ranking member of the Senate budget committee. “That is contrary to law and sound policy.”

“They explicitly suggest on this website that immigrants would be eligible!I think we should be very clear in ensuring that immigrants have the ability to take care of themselves financially as soon as they come into the country.”

Sessions noted the nation’s immigration policy historically has been to deny admission to anyone who would become “a public charge.”

Obama taught the Alinsky method, which is similar to Cloward & Piven. "Rules for Radicals" is Obama's bible. Both campaign slogans were from that book, as were his policies the last 4 years. It's a plan to change America and he is proving that Alinsky knew what he was doing.

The most important part of the plan is to slowly inch our way toward socialism because people do not embrace the radical ideas willingly. It's important to slowly make policies and declare that they are for the good of all. That way, they feel justified in continually ridiculing those who oppose the regime. They are merciless in the way they treat any and all dissenters. From the peons to those at the top, name calling and belittling those who quote the constitution or fight against their freedom being taken away are targeted by the henchmen. We hear accusatory statements from the White House on down. The little armies of ACORN-mentality groups head out to all the websites to post the talking points of the day. Obama, like those dictators before him, has a following of people who never question their messiah. These people have been referred to as useful idiots for decades. They are such incredible idiots that they do not recognize a description of themselves.

Those who speak out are labeled harshly- racist, greedy and all the other things we hear on a daily basis. It's designed to discourage others from speaking out. You'll be humiliated and turned in to AttackWatch. The hope is that people will shy away for fear of reprisal. It works on those who don't understand how they are being manipulated. How many people will soon hold their tongue out of fear of punishment by the government? We saw campaign contributors to Romney end up being harassed by government agencies. There are penalties for opposing the great one, as Valerie Jarrett promised, and those who were against them have hell to pay.

They don't need to worry about elections anymore. They don't even worry about congress anymore, according to Jarrett. Obama is more flexible now. Let the destruction commence.

I can only imagine the disgust with which my immigrant ancestors would react to Obama’s “Government Benefits” brochure. Meanwhile, Senators like Jeff Sessions are trying to get information about the Obama administration’s illegal promotion of welfare benefits, but are being stonewalled–the Obama administration’s invariable response to requests for transparency. Earlier today, Sessions released this statement:

The Department of Homeland Security’s effort to enroll immigrants in welfare raises serious legal, social, and financial issues.

Federal law prohibits the granting of visas to those likely to be welfare reliant, yet DHS actively promotes these benefits to millions of new arrivals every year. DHS knows this, which is perhaps why they refuse to comply with an oversight request on this very issue from the Ranking Members of four Senate Committees


It is a long-held principle of immigration that those seeking a life in America are expected to be able to care for themselves financially and contribute to the financial health of the nation. The Administration’s actions show this principle is no longer in effect. Encouraging self-sufficiency must be a bedrock for our immigration policy, with the goal of reducing poverty, strengthening the family, and promoting our economic values. But Administration officials and their policies are working actively against this goal. At the same time, those who would be self-sufficient are denied or delayed in their admittance.

This is of course a financial issue as well. America spends enough each year on welfare to equal $60,000 for every household beneath the poverty line. Welfare is now the largest item in the budget and is projected to grow another 30 percent in the next four years. We should not pursue an immigration policy that places even more strain on the funding for domestic programs.

DHS should remove any sections of its website, and any portions of its materials for new arrivals, that promote or encourage welfare reliance. And DHS should respond, at once, to the outstanding oversight request on its failure to enforce legally mandated welfare restrictions. The American people deserve to know the hidden truth about how our immigration system is being run.

For the first time in my lifetime, we have a federal government that feels no compunction about disregarding its own laws."

"Those Americans receiving welfare and other forms of government largess, along with the working poor, constitute a critical mass that if manipulated properly could lead to the installation of a (Communist) in the highest office and maintain him there for a considerable time."
