Our veterans deserve better

My other jobs in the Amy twas admin specialist and power generation equipment maint. repair and distribution...If I had been smert I would have been a supply sarg..they always had something going on...
In the rear with the gear.

I was in the Navy for 5 yrs. HT2. Welder, Firefighter, Nuke Specialist.

Got out and went back in after college and joined the Army and became a 36L, Electronic Switch Repairer (AT&T on wheels), and the volunteered for SF and became an 18E, Special Forces Communications SGT and 'A'Team member. (Green Berets)
I wanted to get into the nuclear deal but I was too old they told me..awwww...cutoff was 24..
All I did was wear MOP Gear and use NBC monitoring equipment.

Nukes was a 6 year commitment. I only wanted to do 5.

I don't know if Veterans would fare better under Trump, but what I do know is that nothing will change under Hillary.

How much worse could it get? At least Trump seems to care and brings them up often.

Hillary.....not so much. Hillary is just glad if Veterans are not there to crash her little speeches because of such things as leaving soldiers behind to die in Benghazi.
Not nearly as bad as Lebanon and the VA during my military service under Reagan...

Isn't that why we joined the military? Cause we liked sex, we got fucked everyday...
I joined to get away from my crazy parents.
I joined because the economy sucked and I wanted to get all the free education I could...and it's a family tradition, even my sons have served...they were wing nutz though, I don't hold it against them...
Same here.

A pox on air dales.

This was a nuclear engineering type operation.....Seems the only time they wanted to do MOP training was during the hottest month in summer...

Obama executive appointments have led to a decrease in waiting on disability claims, and there's been a significant push to get homeless vets in permanent housing, which is significant because as with any homeless person, it's near impossible to find regular employment if you don't have a place to eat, sleep and WASH.

When it comes to reforming how VA medical services are delivered (where and by whom) that requires congressional budget appropriations, and even laws to alter the scope and purpose of the VA. We are looking at significant increases in patients. Much more than just medicare. While the Vietnam era guys are aging, we also have all the guys who've been through all the mult tours in Iraq and Afghan.

I'm not saying Obama's a great potus, but all in all, given that there's zero bipartisan cooperation in his final 4 years, imo he gets a passing grade on this. His grandfather is a vet, after all.

If Obama wants to bring in illegals and give them medical care, he writes and Executive Order to bypass the laws. He does so illegally and unconstitutionally, but he does it just the same

Vets he could care less about.
LOL

Slam dunk. And yes it is hard to watch because it is true.

How exactly the heartless vampires who support Trump and look this man in the eyes is a mystery.

Strange. Nothing has changed in the VA. Who's fault is that?

The VA Scandal: Two Years On
Our veterans deserve better from the nation they have served.

The Veterans Affairs–scandal headlines speak for themselves. The Daily Beast: “Veteran Burned Himself Alive outside VA Clinic”; azfamily.com: “Dead veterans canceling their own appointments?”; New York Times: “Report Finds Sharp Increase in Veterans Denied V.A. Benefits,” “More than 125,000 U.S. veterans are being denied crucial mental health services,” and “Rubio, Miller ask committee to back VA accountability bills.”

Two years ago this week — thanks to courageous whistleblowers in Phoenix and a fed-up House Veterans Affairs Committee chairman — the world was finally exposed to rampant VA dysfunction and corruption. Dozens of veterans had died while waiting for care at the Phoenix VA — which was, unfortunately, just the tip of the iceberg. Across the country, VA officials had manipulated lists to hide real health-care wait times. In total, thousands — and possibly far more — met the same fate: waiting, and dying, at the hands of a calcified and soulless bureaucracy. Investigations were launched, and VA Secretary Eric Shinseki eventually resigned.

They do that here too.

Builds character.

"hmm, it all seems to be backwards in this world", thought he.
