Wasn’t this supposed the era of post-racialism? Robert Reich apparently didn’t get that message. In his appearance before Congress on structuring the stimulus plan on January 7th, Reich suggested that the package discriminate against white male workers:

This sounds like trying to make up for discrimination of the past by including blacks instead of excluding them.

Affirmative action was a measure that corrected racism in the past.

Affirmative Action is racist in and of itself. How does discrimination correct racism?

This may come as a surprise to you , PR, but one hell of a lot of liberals agree with you on that point.

Affirmative action should be based on income and assets and NOT on race or gender.

A po White boy from the sticks is much much more disadvantaged than a well heeled Black person or a well heeled White woman.

Yet the AA system used to (it may still I haven't looked at it in years) exclude White men from getting any help because of their race and gender.

So in order to overcome the p[ernicious outcomes of a racist and gender biased history, we in fact created a new victim class....poor white men.
