Our form of government should now be called?

Rome continued with the sham of having a Senate long after it was obvious that Rome was a dictatorship.

The shock some of you are now feeling is merely the shock one gets when one realizes that EVERYTHING YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW WAS WRONG.

The confiscation of AIG by a REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION should be some kind of tip-off that whatever you might have believed about our brand of captialism and democracy is basically bullshit.

Some of you, no doubt, are about to become as cynical as some of you thought I have been all along.

No, you are NOT cynical. You are merely AWARE.

You have my deepest sympathies.

Discovering that the game you've been playing in has been rigged against you is always an unpleasant revelation.

But, come on now...didn't some of you suspect that this was the case, all along?

Be honest, now.

did some of you ask yourselves:

How could the wealthiest nation on earth, the most productive people in human history, go from being the world's largest credit nation to the worlds largest debtor nation in thirty years?

The FIX was hidden from you.

The FIX was buried in laws with entirely different sounding titles.

The FIX was buried in complex tax laws that served to disadvantage those of you who make a living by the sweat of your brow.

The FIX denied behind a whole lotta political/economic/social sloganeering which most of us (me, too, believe me) bought into.

But the FIX has been there the whole time, folks.

Welcome to editec's world.

We are becoming more socialistic each day... That seems to be what people want for some reason... I guess this will cut down on our immigration problem since the more socialist we go the less people will want to live here...

I'd be more than willing to try out someplace where honest capitalism exists.

I'd also be willing to try out honest socialism.

I've never really seen either, but they both sound like good ideas.

Here's a thought...maybe it isn't the ISM that's so important as the HONEST part?

Indeed.

And the realist/optimist says...

The most endangered species ---
The honest man
Will still survive annihilation
Forming a world ---
State of integrity
Sensitive, open, and strong

but the realist/cynic says...

Show me a good man
and I'll show you the door
the last hymn is sung
and the devil cries, more

You should be hopeful, Strollingbones.

Remember that in life things seldom turn out as bad as we think they might.

Then we die.
