Ore. woman accused Gore of sex misconduct in 2006

PORTLAND, Ore. — Law officials say former Vice President Al Gore was accused of "unwanted sexual contact" during a visit to Portland in October 2006. No criminal charges were filed.

Multnomah County District Attorney Michael Schrunk said Wednesday an attorney representing the woman contacted police in late 2006. Schrunk says the woman refused to be interviewed by detectives and did not want the investigation to proceed.

The Associated Press: Ore. woman accused Gore of sex misconduct in 2006

Portland's Oregonian today printed a police report echoing a National Enquirer story that a masseuse accused Al Gore of sexual harassment in 2006.

The woman did not wind up pursuing her complaint, for reasons unclear. It's also worth noting that the Portland Tribune had the story two years ago, and writes that it "chose at that time not to publish a story."

It almost makes me wonder what Al Gore was up to when Clinton got all the spotlight for philandering....

Course, then I remember we are talking about Al Gore and I want to throw up

Al Gore is driving off a cliff!!!

The world considers his global warming crap a big ass swindle that we now realize was actually being propped up with Big Oil, GE, etc. money no less, and now we find him attempting to out-Clinton Clinton.

Poor bastard is as big a political fuck-up as this country has ever seen in the last half-century.

What a complete turd...

Statement from DA:

In late 2006 and January 2007 this office was briefed by the Portland Police Bureau on allegations that were brought to it by an attorney representing a woman who alleged unwanted sexual contact by Al Gore. We were told the woman was not willing to be interviewed by the Portland Police Bureau and did not want a criminal investigation to proceed.

About a year after this event, our office was aware that a public records request from the media regarding this matter had been granted by the Portland Police Bureau.

Today our office was notified by the Portland Police Bureau that further investigation of this matter had been conducted by it in 2009 and we were provided with the reports from that further investigation.

If the complainant and the Portland Police Bureau wish to pursue the possibility of a criminal prosecution, additional investigation by the Bureau will be necessary and will be discussed with the Portland Police Bureau.

Michael D. Schrunk, District Attorney

Why did they reopen the investigation in 09?

I'm much more concerned with whether Obama knew about the selling of his vacated Senate seat than I am about did Gore diddle the help?

That's something to wonder about with re: Obama. However I wonder why they re-opened her complaint in 2009 after three years and her saying she did not wish to press charges. It just seems off to me.
