Opt - in for Porn?

I think that in order to view porn, you should have to purchase special glasses that would allow porn to be viewed. These glasses would be sold exclusively by the Federal Government after you have registered in the Federal Internet Pornography Viewers database.

The glasses would be 3-D GLASSES!!!

What is pornography? Do you know it when you see it? Is it relativistic to time and place? Is a naked breast porn? A naked butt?
How did the USSC define it? I suspect the current justices might (well, at least four of them) redefine porn if given the chance.
Does porn harm kids? I 'know' what may. Since much of porn uses women as objects, and includes violence against women, I'd much rather see violence controlled than sex which is loving, or at least a mutual satisfactory experience, where giving is voluntary and receiving is enjoyed by both the giver and receiver.

Porn would be determined by the Federal Pornography Panel. They would moonlight as the Death Panel.

This post implied a serious question and is worth repeating and asking the question directly.

Does violence harm kids, does it give permission to some to exploit others? Does it devalue human life?

It's pretty simple.

This is an example of pretty obvious soft-core porn:

And here is hard-core porn:

This is some really disgusting stuff involving excrement:

And this is just absolutely obscene:

Does this make more sense?

Porn can become an addiction. Esp if started young. Its not healthy. Xotoxis idea is not that far fetched. If the health nazis are going to be regulating happy meals, I would imagine the porn police won't be far behind. After all "Its all about the children"

PORN could be automatically blocked from every computer in Britain under government plans to protect kids, it emerged today. The radical move would force people to ask internet service providers (ISPs) to lift restrictions before they could log on to saucy sites.

Ministers hope the idea will stop children being exposed to sex at an early age.

He hopes they will agree to ditch the current "opt-out" system - where people have to turn on computer "parental controls" to block porn - in favour of the "opt-in" idea.

Campaigner Miranda Suit, of charity Safermedia, said: "In the past, internet porn was regarded as a moral issue or a matter of taste.

"Now it has become a mental health issue because we know the damage it is causing.

"We are seeing perverse sexual behaviour among children.

"Legislation is both justifiable and feasible."

A great many Pakistanis live in Britain...this could send them packing(no pun intended)!

1). WASHINGTON: Google, the world’s most popular Internet search engine, has found in a survey that mostly Muslim states seek access to sex-related websites and Pakistan tops the list. Google found that of the top 10 countries - searching for sex-related sites - six were Muslim, with Pakistan on the top. The other Muslim countries are Egypt at number 2, Iran at 4, Morocco at 5, Saudi Arabia at 7 and Turkey at 8. Non-Muslim states are Vietnam at 3, India at 6, Philippines at 9 and Poland at 10.

Google Trends data has been gathered since 2004. A search of all data for those using Google to seek out “child sex” from the years 2004 until now places Pakistan far ahead of any other country. Narrowing down the parameters, a search specifically targeted for the current year (2010) again shows that Pakistan tops the list of countries where internet users have searched for the term “child sex”.

Just in case anyone argues that the data could refer to innocent searches made by developmental psychology students, Google Trends shows that when the term “child f***ing” is examined, across all years from 2004 until now, the highest amount of searches for this term came from Pakistan. Similarly, of all global Google searches for “naked child” from 2004 till now, Pakistan still tops the list. Google Trends reveals that of all global Google searches, from 2006 to 2010, for the term “child sex video” Pakistan was second in the world, only being outdone by Bangladesh (a country that was once officially part of Pakistan).

2). 1. One out of every 20 Pakistanis is officially committed to internet porn(5% of total population)

2. one out of 33 Pakistani’s (3%) has an illicit sexual relationship (possibly more, not less). 1 out of 50 (2%) get divorced due to infidelity/want of ‘better’ sex.

3. 12% of Pakistans now officially think that adultery should not be a crime in the ‘Islamic republic of Pakistan’.

4. One out of every nine children has viewed porn in Pakistan (11%). Which implies that you have at least one sibling/cousin on each side (paternal +maternal) who is into porn, even if they are under 15.

5. One out of 40 people (2.5%) access google pakistan to search for porn(for entire population). One out of four internet users in Pakistan use it for searching porn.Factfile pakistan internet penetration

Well, I suppose PC ought to move to Southern California where the porn industry flourishes
and is a multi-million (billion?) dollar industry. Since she has informed the world that Pakistan residents are so in to porn can we expect more middle eastern women to replace the hard working California Girls who star todays films? More jobs moved overseas, how truly disgusting; is nothing sacred?

Sarcasm alert.

Well isn't it? Just take a look around at what we're breeding these days: Fat, unhealthy, uneducated, materialistic, uninterested boobs. While of course there are exceptions, we who are currently in charge are doing a piss-poor job of grooming the next generations for their job of maintaining America's competitive edge in what is now very much a FLAT EARTH. Wasn't it you who said the movie "Idiocracy" wasn't meant to be a documentary? It's damned scary what has happened to American ingenuity, American DRIVE to be the best at everything.

Government isn't the solution Maggie. See "public education" lol

Tell you what, when the private sector wants to pony up and spring for the cost of charter schools for ALL CHILDREN, you won't hear me supporting government subsidized public schools.

Now you're just redistributing.
You're suggesting that the Private sector pay for Public education.

Charter schools are public schools. And the only reason many do better is because they have different rules - like requiring parent participation. No educational reform - inc. altering behavior (obesity, internet dangerS, teen pregnancy, etc) can happen without it. So we either accept that as part of true reform - or we keep the status quo. The govt does not a parent make.

My suggestion was that the Private sector take over Public education.
You get what you pay for....better teachers, supplies, etc....

An effective way ( 99%) efficacy to block porn for anybody:
1- Click on the network connection you use.
2- Properties >> Internet proptocol [TCP/IP] >> properties
3- Use the foolwing DNS server:
