this whole impeachment charade is recognizable to any parent who argues with his child. everything fine until the kid loses interest. then you lose it and start screaming. the less control the parent has, the more hysterical they become.

Dying regimes are the same way. they get more repressive as they fade. as their power ebbs, they lash out against dissent and disobedience.
