Why was ATF Gun Walking OK during the Bush years but bad during the Obama years?

Why was ATF Gun Walking OK during the Bush years but bad during the Obama years? - Yahoo! Answers

ATF "gun-walking" began during the Bush Administration.

Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer became the first high-ranking official Tuesday to admit that he knew U.S. agents were letting thousands of guns sold in the U.S. fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

But Breuer says the controversial “gun walking” tactics he learned about in April 2010 weren't part of “Operation Fast and Furious,” but rather a previous investigation during the Bush administration called “Wide Receiver.”

Wide Receiver was an operation during the Bush administration similar to Fast and Furious under the Obama administration where illegally purchased weapons entered Mexico instead of being stop by ATF. Under Wide Receiver, which ran from 2006 to the end of 2007, the ATF recruited a gun dealer to sell some 450 assault rifles to known straw buyers and then watched as many of those guns crossed the Mexican border

Bush cancelled the plan because it was idiotic.

Obama went ahead and did it anyway and got an American border guard killed

Bush admin didn't walk guns and shut the program down hence the name change. The Marxist saw this and dreamed up they're way to get gun control laws passed and this is how they did it. Very simple shit blame Bush he isn't anywhere near this libtards

It's the old "they all do it" smear.
No, Rocksinhead. They don't all do it. Bush didnt. The adults pulled the plug on the op. Just like the adults wouldn't approve loans to Solyndra.
Then Obama took office.

Because under Bush they worked with the Mexican Government and the guns were tracked.
Under the new administration, they did not let Mexico know what they were doing and the guns were not tracked.

Yep, Bush sure pulled the plug...

The federal government under the Bush administration ran an operation that allowed hundreds of guns to be transferred to suspected arms traffickers — the same tactic congressional Republicans have criticized President Barack Obama's administration for using, two federal law enforcement officials said Tuesday.

...

Federal law enforcement officials say Operation Wide Receiver began in 2006 after the agency received information about a suspicious purchase of firearms. The investigation concluded in 2007 without any charges being filed.

Sure the Bush Admin probably hatched some variant of this "plan".. But the REP leaders pushing the investigation would have to be mental morons to NOT check the REP culpability in the matter FIRST.

Obviously Clear Thinking, (something missing in the OP -- :D ) would assume that the investigation is after SOMETHING that happened AFTER the admin change... Not a backfire.

No Dems don't remind me of North Koreans who will do anything to defend their leaders, no, not at all, where could I get such a weird idea?

If this were all Bush's fault obama would have had every scrap of paper turned over. The program was scrapped. obama resurrected it for a new purpose. The purpose wasn't to track guns, but create as many dead bodies as possible in as short a period of time as possible then institute draconian gun laws that finally Americans would accept.

No, he wouldn't. If Obama actually cared about holding Bush accountable, he'd have turned him over The Hague already.

That would explain why Obama is covering up for Holder

The Bush administration stop Wide Receiver when they saw it wasn't working, plus no border agent was killed.

That might be a clue as to why we REALLY invaded Iraq.. That the American people don't normally know stuff that's in the Prez Daily Briefings.. As in stuff that Hussein did that we will never know unless it leaks.. After all CLinton bombed Iraq DAILY for 8 years and SHOULD have removed all the WMD targets by 2000.. Maybe Billy Jeff know some shit too..

Yeah but besides that it's still Bush's fault

If Brain Terry were killed on Bush's watch you'd have thousands of articles and TV shows on how Bush's Fast and Furious devastated the Terry family and school kids all over the country would send condolence cards
