If Obama wents to KILL coal and change over to electric car he is nuts. We would need nuclear big time and likely double if not triple the nuclear plants we have now just to have enough power to even start the replacement. Hundreds if not trillions of dollars in upgrades. We can't be doing that in our economic mess.

That's why they make the stuff in China. The "green movement" is one big joke. All the green stuff is based on liberal emotion rather than science.

Electric cars will always have a little niche, much like the VW Beetle does. But thats it............just not seen at all as a feasible option.They'll always be part of a fringe auto market........certainly in our lifetimes.

Anybody with half a brain already knows this. Electric cars are not run on rainbows and dreams they run on electricity generated by burning fossil fuels.

People need to realize one thing. We cant have energy without destroying something. Burn coal, mine the minerals to make solar panels, drill for oil, forge the parts for windmills. They all come from some type of destructive human behavior.

Your current car battery has special regulations for the disposal of it due to the harsh chemicals and the fumes that come off of it.

Imagine the harm large batteries would do and the vast cost of disposing of them?

and lets not discount the cost of just hooking up your home to be able to power that car. There's zero chance middle America will cough up that kinda dough in this economy.

The making of electric cars - and more importantly - the disposal of the batteries has been known to have a deeper enviromental effect than standard cars.
But hey - that isn't important...what is important is they get to drive around with a green leaf symbol on their cars.
