I always love threads like these. It is interesting in that people who believe this kind of thing are poster children for how short the attention span of the American citizen really is.

The Dems got into power not because of their own policies or rhetoric but because the conservatives in the GOP were finally fed up with both the Congress and the President not following the principles they allegedly held on to.

The GOP ran McCain. Probably the only candidate in the GOP that was guaranteed to lose conservative support. Sarah Palin aside, the ticket was doomed no matter who was running simply because the conservative wing of the GOP will not vote again for a left leaning moderate.

Polls by the SR-MSM are nothing more then thinly veiled attempts at moving public opinion to where they wish it to be.

But given the bankrupting of America under the first 9 months of this administration, the freedoms that people will begin losing soon due to Cap & Tax, Stimulus and any healthcare bill that fails to insure EVERYONE plus the staggering costs that will come out in the wash next spring/summer, its almost a lock that any person standing up and talking about bringing America and the government back into the limits set out by the Constitution will make a killing. VA and NJ are just a foreshadowing of what is coming.

If conservatives, and the GOP too, play it right, they should be able to get back to a 48-52 Senate and a 231-204 Democrat majority in the 2010 election.

In the industrial nations, we rank down with third world nations in Longevity, Health in Old Age, and Infant Mortality. In fact, little Costa Rica, with universal health care for 60 years and one tenth the per capita income does better than we do in every one of these categories.

Do you get the message, Gary? Japan, Germany, Great Britain, France, all the Scandinavian nations, and even little Costa Rica have longer average life spans than we do. And they all have single payer systems.

And in Germany and Japan they beat us in all categories, including wait times for everything from doctors appointsments to emergency room waits.

That is the reality. You approve of American Citizens dying for lack of care so that a few can be very wealthy off of the lack of health care in the US.

President Obama has, nationwide, 55% of the people behind him. Remove the Southern part of the nation, and that is 67%.

That is a majority, and represents the people that will determine the direction of the nation for many years ahead.

Sometimes numbers are not what they seem. David Sarasohn had an article in today's Oregonian that pointed out some pretty grim numbers for the Republican Party. While the national poll numbers do not look great for President Obama, they do look good. Research 2000 has his numbers at 55-37, ABC at 57-40, Fox at 55-41, and Gallup at 56-40.

Close enough to say that his job approval is about 55%. But when you poll the South, that rating is 27-68. In the rest of the nation, 67-24. That breaks down like this, 59-32 in the West, 62-30 in the Midwest, and 82-7 in the Northeast.

In the rating game between the to partys, the Republicans win in the South, 48-37, lose in the West, 12-72, in the Midwest 10-78, and in the Norheast 6-87.

You might think the Repubs would be a little worried about 2010.

2nd we have a far higher percentage of third worlders.
