Only in America are people led around by the television and the talking heads on the so called new's networks.

Anyone that considers the news anything more then a propaganda machine for status quo should step out of the flag waving fantasy and take a look at reality.

Bush vs Kerry. Think what you want of Kerry but he went into that race a decorated war hero, and he came out looking like a draft dodging coward. His opponent who didnt even fight in any wars and dodged the draft was heralded as a hero.

Now its Ron Paul as a racist. What a fucking joke. Its not even working! Ron Paul is still gaining support!

Kerry was shellacked not because of his service, but because of his Jane Fonda type tendencies.

Against Obama even the ham sandwich is gaining support.

Yeah... trying to betray the country to the enemy with little meetings in France... yeah... that's a war hero

It was not swiftboaters that first brought Kerry's crap to light,.... MANY of us knew of his punk ass actions well before that

Honestly, I find the biases from various news sources pretty clear. I mean, who doesn't understand MSNBC is Progressives and Fox is Conservative? It's blatantly clear. The Left leaning biases are on display from the mainstream TV news, the NYTs, HuffPo, etc while the Right gets their point across in the FT, WSJ, National Review, etc.

Me? I'm a Judge Napolitano watcher and a Reason Magazine reader...which, by the way, would be two news sources that are most definitely NOT "a propaganda machine for status quo". That said, I get your point. I just think it's not so difficult to understand where the biases lie and to make up my own mind.

People that support the troops sometimes and not other times are chicken shit manipulators and agitators. You either support the troops, or you dont. Your either an American, or your a shitbag pretender.

Its always the same faggots that wave the flag and want to support the troops when TV tells them to, but whenever supporting the troops means anything other then expansion of the military, increases of military spending, or more legal plunder by the complex well then there is just no support.

You cock suckers are just rentable Americans. You are an embarrassment to the rest of us on a global scale.

Ya some lean left, and some lean right. But all support the corporate liberal mentality. All serve power. None are unbiased and fair. None side with the people, they all just pretend to and then collect high advertising fee's from the same banks, investment groups, oil companies, and socialist programs.

It wouldnt be a problem if our elected officals didnt spin the intentions, motives and projected results of the opposing party ideas.

Ron Paul is a clown.

I agree with this editorial. http://http://www.unionleader.com/article/20111229/OPINION01/712299993

Here's one tidbit from the link...

He has repeatedly said that we should allow Iran to continue to develop a nuclear weapon. This is the same country whose leadership vows death to America, the “Satanic power,” and who wants Israel wiped from the map.
Sometimes, a bloviating windbag with delusions of grandeur is just a bloviating windbag with delusions of grandeur.

Khrushchev pounded a shoe on the podium and exclaimed "WE WILL BURY YOU!", and Soviet Russia had a 3:1 ratio of nukes to America...How'd that one work out?

Advertising is a necessary part of journalism it would seem and you're right, most "news" outlets support status quo, regardless of which way they lean. I still say there are exceptions. Watch a few episodes of Napolitano and you'll hear someone who consistently sides with the people, the Constitution, and the idea of equal justice under the law. I find the Judge refreshingly unique in this regard.

We know that the whole Iran fiasco is just propaganda. Why? Because we are worried about a nation that all the other nations are not worried about while we ignore the dictatorship that is now being led by a 23 year old. And guess what folks, they already have nukes! Its not just a wet dream like it is for Iran.

You are going to cheer when the corporate funded 527s start up the swiftboat smear machine on Obama. Right now it is just warming up by making sure Romney is the nominee. Republicans inflicted this blight on our elections, now enjoy the unintended consequences of party over country.

Nah, this happens in a lot of countries. The most obvious difference here, is that we have 40 million people who believe they think for themselves, walking around the the exact same opinions on dozens of unrelated issues such as: Abortion, Gun Control, Taxing Businesses, Taxing the Wealthy, Taxing the Middle Class, ObamaCare, Health Care, Environment Regulations, SEC Regs, Corporations are People, Unions and so on...

So, you consider Kerry a chickenshit manipulator, agitator and shitbag pretender, right? After all, he tossed his medals over the White House fence in protest of the military.

He tossed his medals as a protest to institutions of power that treat the military as pawn's to power. Then, same as now, corporate liberals only supported the troops when its an increase in spending, increase in military power, increase in war.

Like I said, think what you want about Kerry, but he is a war hero, and Bush is a draft dodging cheerleader that was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

It's not their responsibility to "side with the people". The people are just as individual as those in the media. They don't have the responsibility to be unbiased and fair, as these are pretty much conditions which do not exist in reality. We all have our biases and opinions. If you're looking to the press to support your own agenda, then you can pretty much pick the one you like, but they are in it for the business, not to support the people.

It is there responsibility to serve the people. This is a democracy. It is not a fascist state.

No, it is not their responsibility to serve the people. And it's a respresentative republic, not a democracy. A democracy is mob-rule. We don't have that in this country- at least not yet. Pure democracy will lead to a fascist state at some point, if not held in check.

No, it's their responsibility to stay in business....The press of the late 18th century made the National Enquirer look like Reason magazine.

And we're a republic, where muckraking media douchebags are free to rake the muck and the populace is presumed bright enough to figure out who and what those jackals are.
