One undeniable fact.

How is that an undeniable fact? An undeniable fact is that 2 + 2 = 4.

It's hardly debatable that obama isn't a complete failure at foreign policy, domestic policy, and economic policy. The one undeniable fact is that if obama was white, he's be well into double digits behind Romney in all polls.

If Obama were white he probably wouldn't have been elected to begin with.

You are right that isn't debatable that his policies are complete failures. The best his supporters can do is say "it could have been worse." That's a tacit admission of failure.

becaus when i have a conversation with someone and they say without fault "im voting for him because hes black and its about time we had a black president" and i point out the fact that hes half black and half white and than said voter says: "you re just being racist"

yes it is an undisputed fact to some that voted for him they just voted because hes black and for some they bought into the fact that HE Obama would fill their gas tanks.

I love you conservatives on this site, who bitch about how liberals always bring up racism, and yet one of your favorite talking points is how Obama only won and is only well liked, and is only tying Romney because hes black.

God forbid you actually consider the possibility that, in part, the reason Obama won by such large margins last time was because of how badly Bush led our nation. And that the reason Obama is running neck and neck with Romney, is in large part to how bad the republican picked candidate is.

No no, don't take any responsibility for your poor choices, it must be because he's black.

What else did he have going for him? How did he generate the wave to over come Hillary who herself and other democrats had to all locked up and he rode over her on a wave of what? Hope? Do you honestly he played that card?

The media cottoned on to him precisely because they thrilled with the "first black president" meme. Otherwise Obama was indistinguishable from Edwards.

He had hope, and change.

He was a fresh face that didn't carry the baggage tha Hiliary had. He wasn't the establishment pick, he hadn't been in Washington long( which was another plus). He is a charismatic speaker who convinced not just dems, but a majority of the American people that a vote for him, was a vote for change, a vote agaist the last 8 years of war and decline and the constant eroding of the constitution.

even chris matthews isnt believing that. holy cow if you looked at his senator record you would not find an ounce of that.

Dissecting the 2008 Electorate: Most Diverse in U.S. History - Pew Research Center

they didnt get out of vote because hes white.

This was particularly true for black eligible voters. Their voter turnout rate increased 4.9 percentage points, from 60.3% in 2004 to 65.3% in 2008, nearly matching the voter turnout rate of white eligible voters (66.1%). For Hispanics, participation levels also increased, with the voter turnout rate rising 2.7 percentage points, from 47.2% in 2004 to 49.9% in 2008.

Yes, I agree the media was enthralled with the notion of a black president. However edwards and Obama are nothing alike. Even if Obama was white he still would have had the media wrapped around his finger, and he would be sitting in the white house. Because he ran a great campaign, and because of his skills at the podium.

And he was in way over his head... And he still is. All because people were brainwashed by the words "hope and change"... Sad.

Republicans never have a shot at the white house in 08. I'm not sure why they wasted a candidate like McCain in the 08 race. So while Hope and Change got Obama into the white house, there was no chance any message the GOP could have preached would have landed them there.
