One Term Donnie

Orange man is the only thing holding russia, libya, ethiopia, turkey, iran from invading israel to take over the leviathon fields. Yes, if dems win, the region will blow up........literally. Is that what you want?

Ethiopia? That Stone Age country can't invade a parking lot, much less Israel.

Ethiopia has always been adept at playing countries against each other. Currently, they're forging a strong relationship with russia and they're friendly with eritrea. This is crucial since it has implications at the bottleneck at the horn of africa. They can't do anything on their own but they will ally with russia, iran , and turkey. This is their only play.

Eritrea? You know absolutely NOTHING about Eritrea if you post garbage like this.

You may want to rethink that since they have recently ended a 2 decade conflict.

So now they are allies?

I wouldn't say they're allies but they did finally sign some type of peace deal recently.

That’s right. He won’t be re-elected. His cowardly and enormously stupid cold blooded killing of the general has needlessly inflamed the region, and now Americans will die.
He campaigned on nonintervention, just as his two lying predecessors did, but now we know he too is a liar.

Trump is becoming a name brand in politics. Ivanka and Don Jr. are polling high for the GOP nomination in 2024.

So your actually going to vote this time?

No. I have always done so in the past. Not anymore. It clearly is a waste of time. Join me.

Imagine if they held an election and no one came. So much for consent of the governed.

Nah. I’m going to continue to exercise my right to vote, and unfortunately support the majority of whiners that collect money for their imagined disabilities.

You’re just wasting your time, but that is your prerogative.

Voting gives Americans the illusion of democracy.

People have died for the right to vote. Maybe you should move to Iran [emoji1130], and let us know how things work out.

Have you ever been to that part of the world? It is one of the most desolate, God-forsaken places on earth. The reason they fought is a mystery because no one in the right minds would want to live there.

The US Government Lies Constantly, And The Burden Of Proof Is On The Accuser

In reality there’s no evidence for any of the reasons we’ve been offered for why Iran needed to be provoked into an almost inevitable retaliation that Trump is currently tweeting will result in all-out war:

  • The claim that Soleimani posed an “imminent threat” is completely without evidence, rumored to be “razor thin“, and entirely debunked in this excellent essay by Craig Murray.
  • Mike Pence’s claim that Soleimani assisted 9/11 terrorists is so ridiculous that even the war-loving Washington Post dismissed it.
  • There’s no proof that Soleimani directed the strike that allegedly killed a US contractor, or that that contractor even existed.
  • There’s no proof that Soleimani was involved in any “attack” on any US embassy, leaving aside the obvious fact that a little graffiti on the walls wouldn’t justify his assassination if he did.
  • The “hundreds of American deaths” line you hear regurgitated by everyone from Trump to Elizabeth Warren actually refers to Iraqis defending themselves from an illegal US invasion with some training from Iran. The claim that Iran was behind Iraqi bombs is withoutevidence and wouldn’t matter if it were true; claiming the inhabitants of an invaded nation don’t have the right to defend themselves is absurd, regardless of where they got their weaponry.
  • The claim that Soleimani was “a terrorist” is only made because the branch of the Iranian military he commanded was arbitrarily designated a terrorist organization by the US government last year, a designation that any foreign government could just as easily make for any branch of the US military. He was actually a fearsome enemy of ISIS and al-Qaeda and played a massive role in halting the spread of ISIS.

An attack may be deemed “imminent”, according to the Bethlehem Doctrine, even if you know no details of it or when it might occur. So you may be assassinated by a drone or bomb strike – and the doctrine was specifically developed to justify such strikes – because of “intelligence” you are engaged in a plot, when that intelligence neither says what the plot is nor when it might occur. Or even more tenuous, because there is intelligence you have engaged in a plot before, so it is reasonable to kill you in case you do so again.

Point of fact, the reason the US and Israelis knew his whereabouts? He was on a PEACE MISSION, trying to end the conflict between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. I know the War profiteers would have hated that. . .

Care to take a crack at explaining why so many Iranians celebrated the killing of Soleimani? The truth of the matter is that he was an evil person who killed thousands of his fellow Iranians simply for protesting against the regime.

Iraqi PM reveals Soleimani was on peace mission when assassinated, exploding Trump’s lie of ‘imminent attacks’

Iraqi PM reveals Soleimani was on peace mission when assassinated, exploding Trump’s lie of ‘imminent attacks’

Well, that is all interesting, fine and good, and raises some important questions. However, just because Soleimani was on a trip that day to barter a peace deal with Yemen and Saudi does not preclude him from also having other plans in the works aimed at harming US interests. No one ever said that Soleimani was going to hit America THAT DAY.

But it does raise some questions and the whole matter seems increasingly erratic as to why we felt the need to take out THIS GUY on that day rather than simply strike some factory or industry of theirs.

It raises the question of just how Trump intendeds to take out all of Iran's cultural sites, what those ramifications would be (lots of collateral damage), and who is going to carry that out against a country which has made no overt, hostile action against us?

It raises the question of why all these provocative actions against Iran, first killing the nuclear deal without discussion and diplomacy first, the increased sanctions and now this? What is it about Iran we don't know? Is there something going on beneath the surface or does some general have a big hard on for making a scapegoat of this country to justify a war?

It raises the question of why this now and can this really be good for Trump's reelection? Where will we be at in six months? I mean, it's not like Iran struck our World Trade Center.

It raises the question of what the Iraqis are going to do now that they voted to out the US Troops and our Command has said: "No thank you. We're not ready to leave." And now that Trump has said that we are not going unless they pay us for some airport we built there. What will Iraq do, try to force us out?

And lastly, it raises the question of why when the Obama administration’s 2016 assassination of Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansur, a Taliban leader who was eager to negotiate a peaceful end to the US occupation of Afghanistan was killed, no big deal was made of that? Why no international uproar? Because it was just a Taliban leader and not a general of a powerful country?

The entire matter of this sudden escalation with Iran which has been stirring for about a year now with various skirmishes culminating in this killing of Soleimani raises a lot of questions, as it doesn't have any clearly defined cause or beginning, no clearly defined direction, goal or justification. I'm not qualified to say what the "truth" is here, not just from reading one or two web articles, but it sure raises a lot of questions and doubts about where this will end up now that it has happened.

Lies, the Bethlehem Doctrine, and the Illegal Murder of Soleimani - Craig Murray

He's been killing and plotting to kill Americans, for decades.
Fuck 'em.

That is complete bullshit, propaganda, and there is no proof of that.

In fact, all evidence is to the contrary. If you had a clue about the history of this guy, he is the moderate voice in Iran, has worked clandestinely with the U.S. before, and has always been patient in trying to get things done w/o blood shed.

Point of fact, the reason the US and Israelis knew his whereabouts? He was on a PEACE MISSION, trying to end the conflict between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. I know the War profiteers would have hated that. . .

Soleimani Was in Iraq on Peace Mission When US Assassinated Him, Trump Lied About "Imminent Attacks"

What drives the U.S. nuts, is he is better at asymmetrical warfare. To think the Iranians are going to stop, or that he didn't train his commanders in this type of warfare? Complete insanity.

Just because you label someone a "terrorist" does not make them one.

An interesting proposal, Mr. B., I just wish you had something more substantial for me to believe other than one fringe news source which sites reference to numerous sources yet does not link us to any of them other than one other fringe news site which seems to circuitously be the source for the first.

The Trump administration claimed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani was planning “imminent attacks” on US interests when it assassinated him. That lie was just destroyed, but not before countless corporate media outlets transmitted it to the public.

Soleimani Was In Baghdad On Peace Mission To De-Escalate With Saudis: Report

How about Ron Paul, he a liar too?

I see the some are thinking that Trump will just bomb all their cultural sites.

That is not the case, the Iranians use many cultural sites as military bases. Trump is letting them know they can not hide behind them!

It is just like Hezbollah in Palestine hiding in homes of regular people to shield themselves from attacks.

You do realize the general you seem to respect is responsible for the cowardly killing of hundreds of American?
LOL. You don’t know WTF you are talking about. please get informed.

The US Government Lies Constantly, And The Burden Of Proof Is On The Accuser

Care to take a crack at explaining why so many Iranians celebrated the killing of Soleimani? The truth of the matter is that he was an evil person who killed thousands of his fellow Iranians simply for protesting against the regime.

Yes, how quickly we are forgetting that the day Soleimani was killed, Iraqis and Iranians everywhere rejoiced, celebrating the US. Now we have millions mourning his death and him even a friend of the USA and a peacemaker and a "good guy" on his way to do something that was in the interests of the USA? Something doesn't quite wash clean with the now sudden apparent attempt to paint the USA as the villain now, an evil, back-stabbing, scurrilous dog out to start a war for no good reason by kicking poor Iran in the nutsack.

History shows that there is always more to these things than the parties can and are willing to admit. Behind closed doors, there are deals and ligatures between many world countries that they would be loathe to publicly admit.

That’s right. He won’t be re-elected. His cowardly and enormously stupid cold blooded killing of the general has needlessly inflamed the region, and now Americans will die.

He campaigned on nonintervention, just as his two lying predecessors did, but now we know he too is a liar.

Donnie just made Sniify Joe look like a foreign policy expert. God help us.

Good job on questioning the official story regarding the killing of Soleimani, the war hawk establishment in Washington never bats an eye about telling the BIG LIE in order to get their way, it isn't the guy in the Oval Office you have to worry about, it's the military industrial complex and all its warmongering sycophants that inhabit Washington that are the real problem. Personally I don't buy the story coming out of Washington and being parroted by the media, too many things don't make sense about this.

However I think you're probably mistaken regarding the effect this will have on Donny's re-election chances; Georgey Boy campaigned on non-interventionism and no nation building yet started a war on blatantly false premises and cruised to re-election without a hitch, O'Nimrod wasn't much better, he talked a good game but when it came time to shed blood overseas he kowtowed to War Inc. like the good little politician he is and was easily re-elected.

All in all this probably helps Donny get re-elected since the American people just love it when a President goes all John Wayne and starts killing evil foreigners with smart bombs.

"We like war! We're a war-like people! We like war because we're good at it! You know why we're good at it? Cause we get a lot of practice. This country's only 200 years old and already, we've had 10 major wars. We average a major war every 20 years in this country so we're good at it! And it's a good thing we are; we're not very good at anything else anymore! Huh? Can't build a decent car, can't make a TV set or a VCR worth a fuck, got no steel industry left, can't educate our young people, can't get health care to our old people, but we can bomb the shit out of your country all right! Huh? Especially if your country is full of brown people; oh we like that don't we? That's our hobby! That's our new job in the world: bombing brown people. Iraq, Panama, Grenada, Libya, you got some brown people in your country, tell them to watch the fuck out or we'll goddamn bomb them!" -- George Carlin

In fact, the EXACT REVERSE happened, this general was HELPING us attack the Taliban. :dunno:

The Shadow Commander

Qassem Suleimani is the Iranian operative who has been reshaping the Middle East. Now he’s directing Assad’s war in Syria.
The Shadow Commander

". . . Since then, Suleimani has orchestrated attacks in places as far flung as Thailand, New Delhi, Lagos, and Nairobi—at least thirty attempts in the past two years alone. The most notorious was a scheme, in 2011, to hire a Mexican drug cartel to blow up the Saudi Ambassador to the United States as he sat down to eat at a restaurant a few miles from the White House. The cartel member approached by Suleimani’s agent turned out to be an informant for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. (The Quds Force appears to be more effective close to home, and a number of the remote plans have gone awry.) Still, after the plot collapsed, two former American officials told a congressional committee that Suleimani should be assassinated. “Suleimani travels a lot,” one said. “He is all over the place. Go get him. Either try to capture him or kill him.” In Iran, more than two hundred dignitaries signed an outraged letter in his defense; a social-media campaign proclaimed, “We are all Qassem Suleimani.”

Several Middle Eastern officials, some of whom I have known for a decade, stopped talking the moment I brought up Suleimani. “We don’t want to have any part of this,” a Kurdish official in Iraq said. Among spies in the West, he appears to exist in a special category, an enemy both hated and admired: a Middle Eastern equivalent of Karla, the elusive Soviet master spy in John le Carré’s novels. When I called Dagan, the former Mossad chief, and mentioned Suleimani’s name, there was a long pause on the line. “Ah,” he said, in a tone of weary irony, “a very good friend.”

<snip>

In the chaotic days after the attacks of September 11th, Ryan Crocker, then a senior State Department official, flew discreetly to Geneva to meet a group of Iranian diplomats. “I’d fly out on a Friday and then back on Sunday, so nobody in the office knew where I’d been,” Crocker told me. “We’d stay up all night in those meetings.” It seemed clear to Crocker that the Iranians were answering to Suleimani, whom they referred to as “Haji Qassem,” and that they were eager to help the United States destroy their mutual enemy, the Taliban. Although the United States and Iran broke off diplomatic relations in 1980, after American diplomats in Tehran were taken hostage, Crocker wasn’t surprised to find that Suleimani was flexible. “You don’t live through eight years of brutal war without being pretty pragmatic,” he said. Sometimes Suleimani passed messages to Crocker, but he avoided putting anything in writing. “Haji Qassem’s way too smart for that,” Crocker said. “He’s not going to leave paper trails for the Americans.”

Before the bombing began, Crocker sensed that the Iranians were growing impatient with the Bush Administration, thinking that it was taking too long to attack the Taliban. At a meeting in early October, 2001, the lead Iranian negotiator stood up and slammed a sheaf of papers on the table. “If you guys don’t stop building these fairy-tale governments in the sky, and actually start doing some shooting on the ground, none of this is ever going to happen!” he shouted. “When you’re ready to talk about serious fighting, you know where to find me.” He stomped out of the room. “It was a great moment,” Crocker said.

The coöperation between the two countries lasted through the initial phase of the war. At one point, the lead negotiator handed Crocker a map detailing the disposition of Taliban forces. “Here’s our advice: hit them here first, and then hit them over here. And here’s the logic.” Stunned, Crocker asked, “Can I take notes?” The negotiator replied, “You can keep the map.” The flow of information went both ways. On one occasion, Crocker said, he gave his counterparts the location of an Al Qaeda facilitator living in the eastern city of Mashhad. The Iranians detained him and brought him to Afghanistan’s new leaders, who, Crocker believes, turned him over to the U.S. The negotiator told Crocker, “Haji Qassem is very pleased with our coöperation.”

The good will didn’t last. In January, 2002, Crocker, who was by then the deputy chief of the American Embassy in Kabul, was awakened one night by aides, who told him that President George W. Bush, in his State of the Union Address, had named Iran as part of an “Axis of Evil.” Like many senior diplomats, Crocker was caught off guard. He saw the negotiator the next day at the U.N. compound in Kabul, and he was furious. “You completely damaged me,” Crocker recalled him saying. “Suleimani is in a tearing rage. He feels compromised.” The negotiator told Crocker that, at great political risk, Suleimani had been contemplating a complete reëvaluation of the United States, saying, “Maybe it’s time to rethink our relationship with the Americans.” The Axis of Evil speech brought the meetings to an end. Reformers inside the government, who had advocated a rapprochement with the United States, were put on the defensive. Recalling that time, Crocker shook his head. “We were just that close,” he said. “One word in one speech changed history.”
Pence lied about 9/11 as well.... there is a video showing him promoting WMDs in Iraq for the administration that was utter BS.

He might get reelected, but whether valid or not, I would not underestimate how strongly the Democrats believe he is an absolute danger to our democratic Republic, to our Nation!!!

The electoral college might still elect him, but the people, will surely not.
