Once upon a time

The golden age of America has passed.
An unfortunate truth.

Ahhhhh, but it doesn't have to be that way. Too many people expecting handouts with no desire to work for a living will drive a country down. Just look at Roman history, we're following it.

and offshoring jobs to increase profit, etc.
But yes we are spoiled and lazy.

The problems here in the US go way deeper then that my friend. Way deeper. An entitlement mentality is only the beginning and yes corporate greed is another issue.

Perhaps there are more important things this nation should be doing. In these difficult economic times, the cots of a space program does seem extravagant.

The space program has not ended. There's a huge amount of space exploration going on as we speak and there will continue to be going forward.
True and I'm sure there will be many amazing discoveries but the greatest value of the moon mission was not it's engineering and scientific accomplishments but rather the boost to America's confidence. Somewhere along the line we lost that confidence.

Ohh yes it a complex path we are on.
Personal debt.
Materialistic based self esteem.
lack of moral fiber.
and just simple whineyassidness.
And more reasons as well.

But in the short of it WE are responsible.

According to Philip Corsi, fiber optics, superconductivity and microprocessors were all reverse engineered from pieces of the crashed Roswell ship

Easy to understand why Frank thinks Obama is totally responsible for our current problems.

I'll take Failed Leaders for $1.6 Trillion, Alex.

Q: Why is Obama totally responsible for our current problems?

What is "Because he admitted he's a Failed Leader"?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. ... It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government's reckless fiscal policies." -- Barack Hussein Obama, Failed Leader, Community Organizer and low-level socialist agitator

I think America needs something very positive to focus on. In 60's their was the moon mission. In the 80's it was end of the cold war. In the 90's it was the Internet revolution. But what do we have in this decade.

We have two wars still unpaid for, that American's has little or no interest in.
A war on terrorism that we are told will go on forever and we can't win.
Two political parties so polarized, they can even agree to pay the nations debts.
The worst unemployment we've had in 30 years and a government that has no plan to deal with it.

The government, and the politicians within it are terrified of having to do the work neccessary to fix the problem. It will be unpopular as hell and the entitlement class (who get them elected...just like ancient Rome) will be pissed as hell. But if it's not done, and done soon, this country is gong to fail. And when it fails it will fall hard and there will be a violent revolution and the dictatorship will begin...just like happens in governments throughout time.

It will be very ugly and very, very bloody.
