On The Question Of Equal Pay

The women's national soccer team generated several more million than the men's but the players were paid less. It was the subject of a complaint a few years back. Generally though, they do not but it is less about popularity with fans and more about advertising sales. Men dominate the industry and have less interest in women's sports so they buy less.

Women's sports seldom if ever generate the same revenue as men's sports.

So we are stuck with two ways to equal pay. One is to give men less which means that sponsors will make more money. People will not be happy with this since men will receive less money and sponsors will be allowed to keep more.
We could pay women more for a short time until the point that advertisers decide it is not worth the return. At that point women's sports will be dropped.

It may not matter as more trans pour into women's sports. Then it will become a matter of is it men's or women's sports? Then it may well be why watch so called women's sports if it is dominated by men anyway.

Many of our women soccer players are household names. The men? Not so much.

On an international level, sure, the men generate more interest and revenue than the men, but here in the states, the women generate more buzz.

I say pay em, myself.
