When was the last conviction of violating the Logan Act?

Who would ever prosecute him when there have been so many other examples of violations of the Logan act that have gone unpunished since the Vietnam War.

Personally, I think we SHOULD start prosecuting and with conviction punishing to the fullest extent of the law the Logan act, and maybe half the 5th column stuff will quit happening to us.

I wonder though. Is 3 years and a fine enough of a punishment?

This is another stupid argument. Do you realize how many treaties we would have if this stupid act were actually enforced against our government officials? NONE. This is a non starter

Are you actually trying to claim that a representative of the US government, which a Senator is, is not authorized to speak to the representatives of another government about anything but the weather?

He has to be sent by the President. He can't do it on his own. Whio makes war plans and troop movements? It sure isn't a senator.

Watch the video.

I started, but I do not have 10 minutes to do so.

How exactly can a Senator violate this law? And if Obama did do so, did McCain do it also when he visited foreign officials and spoke with them.

Since you seem to think you have a grasp on the subject what part of the sate department does a Senator work in?

I didn't watch the whole video, but he certainly has a right to tell anyone who listens that he plans to pull all troops out of Iran if he is elected, just like McCain did. So I repeat, did McCain break the law when he did it?

obama asked the Iraqi President to delay any agreement for troop withdraw until after the 2008 election which is a violation.

rather than waste all your time arguing about whether Obama was born in the United States or whether he violated the Logan Act, why not make an attempt to constructively work with the president to try to fix the problems that confront this country?
