During the campaign, Mr. Copé — a driving force behind a 2011 law that banned the wearing of the burqa, or full veil, in public — adopted a more divisive tone, focusing on themes like stricter immigration laws and the reinforcement of France’s secularism, as a not-so-subtle response to fears of radical Islam.

Last month, in “A Manifesto for an Uninhibited Right,” Mr. Copé wrote that the suburbs of France’s biggest cities had become bastions of “anti-white racism”, a term much discussed and mocked in the French news media

Copé, a non practicing jew, opposes gay marriage. Most in his party are not religious and still oppose gay marriage:

Jean-Francois Cope, who is hoping to become leader of the opposition centre-right UMP party in an internal contest with ex-Prime Minister Francois Fillon on Sunday, sent a letter of support to the protesters.

when lbj said he would have them n's voting dem for the next 200 years he was referring to the white ones.
which is why what is happening in france will never happen here.

93% of french muslims voted for socialist Hollande in the second round. In Germany only 10-15% of turkish germans vote for Merkel's CDU.

So i see common points. The Left needs victimized minorities, and will label as "racism" any attempt to refute their agenda.

Hollande applied Obama's campaign techniques to his run. "There's no need for austerity. There's plenty of money out there we can extort, expropriate, or outright steal"
He also promised Frances's Muslim community, he would make France Islam's first European colony.
France has had a long tradition of abjectly surrendering to her enemies like a drunken whore on a first date. Hollande, in order to win election, deliberately sought out and interviewed France's enemies to determine the best one to surrender to.

Today there is a large demonstration in Paris against gay marriage:

Opposition leader Jean-Francois Cope and other conservatives, as well as leaders from the far-right National Front, will march as private citizens without political banners.

Opinion polls show reform zeal cooled somewhat once these arguments were heard. Support for gay nuptials has slipped about 10 points to under 55 percent and fewer than half the French now want gays to have adoption rights.

Under this pressure, legislators dropped a plan to amend the draft law to allow lesbians access to assisted reproduction techniques such as artificial insemination that are now limited to heterosexual couples with fertility problems.

18,000 mayors have signed a petition demanding a "conscience clause" that would allow mayors to refuse to perform gay marriages.

This statement, otherwise beneath contempt and unworthy of response, is so remarkably wrong and silly as to be laughable.

Yet apparently irrefutable. :eusa_angel:

Considering the American 'revolution' would not have succeeded without French aid, it always surprises me that Americans are so ignorantly contemptuous of that great country.
