    I still don't see the big issue with what the Pats did. They all do it. Why do you think the coaches all hold clipboards over their faces or order mics with large mouth pieces? It's because they know all of them have lip readers. Pats just happened to get caught at it.

    Actually the actual tape was aired on ESPN. What it essentially showed was a camera panning from the defensive coordinator giveing signs then to the scoreboard to note what what down and yardage it was.

    Thus by watching the signals they and the down and yardage the offense can figure out what kind of defensive package they are gonna see in a given situation.

    Sounds smart to me. In baseball they use hand signals and they use a lot of false ones to prevent the other teams from figuring them out. I see nothing different from that.
