Find it hugely funny how much the lefties have their knickers in a twist over today's election results. Really came as a huge surprise to them. Hello! It shouldn't be a surprise since middle America is still reeling from the fact Obama actually won. They now realize they got caught sleeping on the job! It was a great shock to the system, and now middle America are coming to their senses and attempting to make things right again. The 08 election will eventually be seen as a blip in the great scheme of things. Obama has scared the crap out of everyone and the only good thing about Him is that He has energized real Americans to get off their duffs and get Him out of there.

IMO, when polls are done correctly to gauge the basic values of the American voter, well rounded polls on a broad assortment of issues, the majority fall right of center. That group stretches well into the independents, libertarians and democrats.

So to see things taking place like the reactions at town hall meetings, the tea parties and yesterdays elections is not surprising at all, given the fanatical direction of the White House and the leadership of the house and senate.

The blue dogs may very well take notice now and begin to stiffen their resolve even more than they already have. The claims will be made by the leadership and the White House that this is not a reflection of Obama's principals and direction, but, it is, very much so.

So get ready as those knickers may burst before it's all over!

Mike

Here's how the knickers bunch here in Maine:

Question 1 - Voted against Gay marriage. (Social conservatives win)

Question 2, the excise tax initiative, and Question 4, known as TABOR (Taxpayer Bill of Rights) II were both defeated. (for the 5th time, I note)

That's two wins for the so-called social liberals.

Question 3 - voted to keep the plan for the consolidation of schools (social liberals win agai, I guess)

Question 5 - they voted to create and plan for state dispenseries for medical Mariajuana (social liberals win, I suppose)

Question 6 - They voted to spend money on transportation (social liberals win)

Question 7. Voted down giving two clerks more time to check registration for checking voter registrations (don't know who wins and who loses with this one to be honest)

Question 8 -Mainers also voted to borrow and spend money for transportation issues (social liberals win? I suppose so if one uses the silly definition some of us use to describe liberalism)

Oscar Wilde famously said:
“There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.”

1. Yes, there was a validation of the recent and regular polls indicating that America is a center right nation.

2. Virginia merely went back into the column where it can usuallly be found. Outside of the northern area adjacent to D.C., it is a red state.

3. NJ is the most telling, as it is a tried-and-true blue state.

4. NJ clearly indicates that President Obama does not have 'coattails,' as he visited NJ five times to no avail.

5. The Owens victory in CD23 indicates that the vaunted conservative groundswell may not be as powerful as has been reported. Garamendi won in California, so that is two more Democrats in the House.

6. While the rebirth of vocal conservativism was apparent, and sent a message to the leaders of the Republican party- as well as many Democrats, if the folks who sent the message believe that their job is done, it will be lost in the wind.

7. As Ben Stein reported on CNN, there is no more gifted politician on the scene than President Obama, who still maintained a 50% approval by Virginians after the vote. All indications are that he will be reelected. One can only hope that he has an opposition Congress after '10.

After last night the Republicans have an extra seat they need to gain to make that happen in 2010.

All I see is the Conservatives need to work harder. Fiscal conservatives, or at least those using it as an issue, did well here.

i think your wingnuttieness was pretty well tested in NY-23...

WH says GOP wins are not about Obama but if the Dems had won, it would have been about Obama. Spin, spin, spin.

The GOP wins? People are sending a message loud and clear to their states and to Washington . . . stop spending so much fucking money and stop shoving trillion dollar crap bills in our face.

Hoffman gained some 30 point in a few short weeks.
He had no party backing and the Republicans posted about $1 million in adds against him.
He garnered a great deal of news coverage in simply being a Conservative.

Most telling is that the name-caller above made no mention of the absence of any following of President Obama, who pulled out all the stops, put his 'reputation' on the line by five visits to a reliably Democrat state, New Jersey, and yet had the Democrat voters of New Jersey thumb their noses at the President.

So, probably partially attributable to human nature, partly to the deep and abiding wound that the election placed on her, she would rather trumpet the loss by an unknown Conservative, whose career is, what, two months, than the exposure of the vapidity of President Obama's influence, her knight for whom she has waited a lifetime.

In the words of a previous President, I feel your pain.

interestingly, i feel no pain...

and the person above has a name, oh wingnutty one.

you however, have a democrat in a seat that's been republican since the year gimel...

in the words of that same president.. I feel *your* pain.

Really? How many of us "have our knickers in a twist"?

I think there is a real grass roots Conservative revolution happening right now. This revolution will of course not be televised by the Liberal dominated MSM but it really is happening. More & more people are turning to true Conservatism. Most are realizing that the Socialists from both parties have destroyed our Nation at this point. Real Conservatism is the only choice left for them. Unfortunately the old school Republican Leadership continues to ignore this revolution and keeps forcing fraud candidates like Arlen Spector and Scozzafava on us. They better get it together soon and jump on board or else. Join the Conservative Revolution now! It's never too late to join.

Obama seems to realize economics are playing big right now. How did it pass you up? I have not made any mention of Palin carrying weight as you put it. Try to keep your posters straight. I also have not made NY 23 a make or break race, so I fail to see your point. Sling the mud, maybe some will stick. It always stays on the hands of the thrower.
