Section 834b in the California Penal Code:

(a) Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws. (b) With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the following: (1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding documentation to indicate his or her legal status. (2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or leave the United States. (c) Any legislative, administrative, or other action by a city, county, or other legally authorized local governmental entity with jurisdictional boundaries, or by a law enforcement agency, to prevent or limit the cooperation required by subdivision (a) is expressly prohibited.

Hot Air LA City Councilman blasts AZ law for provisions in CA penal code

Uh oh. About that boycott....

My question, for CA politicians is this.... if you can pick and choose what laws you actually implement, can 'We, the People' pick and choose which laws we obey?

If California ever sank into the ocean, there would be a bigger oil slick than what's washing up in the Gulf right now.

It shows the folly of condemning something before you've even read or understood it. The LA City Council, Obama, Napolitano, Holder, et.al., would do well to learn that lesson next time.

The everyday liberal media and the local politicians pandering for the hispanic American and liberal vote ignore little facts like that because it makes their lies less believable. If you mess with illegals then most hispanic American citizens who can vote will not vote for you.

A big problem is to many hispanic Americans have forgotten they are Americans and have jumped into this issue like they were illegals. They can't understand that allowing illegals to do as they please diminishes all Americans including them. Actually more so than any other American workers because most hispanic American workers are in lower paying blue collar jobs and the illegals are taking more of their jobs than the jobs of other American workers. They are screwing themselves supporting illegals.

Of course they are all being played La Raza, MEChA and big business that eventually wants cheap labor all the way up to mid-management. Actually one of the biggest pandering punk local politician is the mayor of Phoenix Arizona, Phil Gordon. He is in the pocket of the elite money men of Phoenix who thrive on the illegal alien cheap labor. Phil Gordon has made Phoenix a major sanctuary city. Phoenix is the mythical bird that arose from ashes. Well Phoenix has arose again from ashes and it's now Refried.
