Officials say the suspect turned himself in shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, He faces one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older. After he is processed at the Juvenile Assessment Center, he is expected to be taken to Broward Juvenile Facility.

Cops must be going light on him. In addition to the battery on elderly charge (748.08c), which carries a 5 year state prison sentence, he could/should also be charged with FL Statute 825.102, abuse of an elderly person, which also carries a 5 year prison sentence. Kid could be looking at 10 years + more if the injuries mount up, which can easily happen in an older person. In that case the sentencing could go from 15 years up to the death penalty.

Seems these kids have been pulling parties like this for awhile. They announce a party, secret location to be divulged. And most of the kids don't live in these complexes, if any do at all. They set up dj's etc. and have been getting away with it. This one drew around 200 people.

They did. It is outrageous. He has been given 21 days juvenile detention served at home. Just herd it in our local news.

Actually, it looked to me like she was mouthing off causing some sort of commotion at a mostly black party and one dude decided to horse around and throw her in the pool to cool her off--- just having fun. I see above it is said she was complaining about the noise. He slipped on the wet surface and lost his balance and they both fell to the ground, then he got back up and picked her up and threw her into the pool on the second try. Not saying it was a smart thing to do, but then, we weren't there and it was just a limited video. I did not see any body slam, but then, she should have just called the police instead of going there. Probably a law suit pending.

She finally called the police, waited, and finally went down to ask the dj to turn it down, which resulted in her being thrown into the pool. Turns out several residents had called the police and they never showed. It also was one of those unauthorized parties where they announced it online as a secret event, where they pick places and spread the word where it will be held by word of mouth. The kid was from a city several miles away. Some people caught the twitter messages about the party but those accounts have now been deleted. It was supposedly a blockboyz954 party.

Thanks. There will be major lawsuits, not only against the individual who threw her, but the police as well.
