Okay, so - your vote. Best voice, ever.

He's truly amazing. I've seen him so many times when I was young. And he never ever ceased to amaze me. I was rocking with Alice Cooper but I still loved Lightfoot. He transcended sp? categories.

His songs were for true. I can't explain it any other way.

I hope that makes sense.

OK back to vocals.

Smack me upside the head but I'll run with Julie Driscoll for female voices. She was and is amazing.

My mom and her friends dragged me to the Maple Leaf Gardens to see the Beatles. true story. I was their "go to" teenager/tweenager/kid companion (I figured this out when they took me to Blue Hawaii/don't ask don't tell when you are only a kid and I got as much popcorn as I wanted I think I was only around 10 or 11 at the time)

BUT when it came time to drag me off to the Beatles, okey dokey my mom and my baba ( who adored Ringo) were dying in anticipation for these guys hitting the stage, there was a woman who opened for them called Dusty Springfield. I'm not sure if I've put her up on this board yet.

She killed me. A voice to die for. I was just a kid. But her voice wa surreal.

Oh and the next thread I should start, should be good moms go bad and drag their daughter to see Englebert Humperdink at the Okeefe center with Marianne Faitful as the super opener, followed by Harry "yes you got it banana boat" Belafonte.

I could sue my mom now for damages for the mental anguish I suffered.

NAH my mom was cool even dragging me around.

Having computer problems again. Apologies for the delay to put up some of Dusty Springfield's hits.

Of course it does. Gordon was and is a rapscallion. He's telling his truth much of the time. He loved them and left them and let them know he was leaving them while he was loving them.

Then he wrote songs about them. :clap2:

I mean when I was young, that's what the music and poetry were for. He just never stopped. :)

A fine blues voice. Gone far too soon, as so many who emote the blues...
