Voting for and electing Obama was not a mistake. No way. If McCain and the Princess had gotten elected we would be in a much, much worse situation now. They never would have passed the Stimulus, and that is credited with getting us out of the Recession and growing again. Complain all you want, it worked and McCain never would have pushed for one.

While there are many legitimate reasons to criticize Obama, the alternative would have been much, much worse. I have zero regrets.

Since the enactment of "porkulus," the number of Americans receiving unemployment checks jumped by nearly 2 million, while the number of Americans cashing paychecks plunged by almost 3 million. If that weren't bad enough, the U.S. economy has been handcuffed with 16 straight months of unemployment lingering above 9%.

If half of the industries in the U.S. created 2 million jobs due to the stimulus, and the other half lost 5 million, we would have a net result of losing 3 million. Would that also mean the stimulus failed to create 2 million jobs?

Besides that, a Recession is not measured by job growth. After Bush's first recession, which was mild compared to his last one, we had anemic job growth for about 2 years. That doesn't mean we weren't out of the recession. Just like now, jobs aren't being created but we, as an economy, are out of the recession, and credit is due to the Recovery Act, something McCain never would have pushed for.

As for the articles, they make the same false criticisms that many "supply-side", faith-based economists do. They point to the deficit total, as if that entire amount is over and above what we normally spend, and then point to the Recovery Act, which was 1/3 tax cuts and 1/3 aid to states, but then claim the ENTIRE package was spending projects, and lastly, ask an open ended question, "How much is enough?" and never answer it, but throw out numbers and then proclaim the whole plan a failure. It's totally, 100% dishonest.

1) those govt jobs destroyed wealth. the tax payer lost close to 1 trillion dollars in cash for those temporary jobs.
2) blaming GWB for the 01 recession has no place in my life to respond to that. But I will note that without spending 1 trillion in stimulus the free market did create 6.7 million jobs out of that "recession" and 9-11
3) you can take up those accusations with the people who wrote the articles. The information within those articles looks to be accurate, as far as the opinion side of it goes, again
