Ohio Supreme Court upholds law blocking city gun bans

Don't come to NYC if you're packing..or you will get a nice 2 year stay in the pokie.

And that's just the way we like it.

Yeah disarming the good citizens is sooo effective:eusa_whistle:

Yep.

New York is one of the safest places in the United States.

We left the wild west mentality..in the wild west.

Really?

In the Big Apple, violent crime is back. After years of decline, New York's murder rate is up more than 20 percent from the same period last year.

Heller was an abomination..and a fine example of legislating from the bench.
You might have a leg to stand on here, if:
1- Heller wasn't historcally and legally sound
2- It didnt reverse the previous "precedent" that was built on deliberate judicial mal-intreptation and historical nonsense.

Do you even bother to read these things?

The first 11 weeks of 2010 saw 103 murders in the city, compared with 86 in 2009, according to police department data. Officials say cuts in the police force caused by the recession may be to blame.

New York's homicide rate was highest in 1990, when the city had 2,245 murders.

In a city of 9 million people 103 murders is a pretty good figure.

Hey, go ahead and defend your home town all you want. But to claim that NYC is one of the safest places on earth, and try to hint that it is because of some anti-gun law is simply BS.

Good question - do you?

NEW YORK -- New York City recorded a double-digit increase in murders during 2010, with more than half the victims shot to death by someone they knew, likely related to drugs, according to preliminary figures from the police department Monday.

As of Dec. 31, there were 532 murders, up 13 percent from 2009. Rape, robbery and felony assault were all also up, but total crime was down 2 percent.
NYC records 532 murders in 2010, up from 2009 - Forbes.com

532 over a population of 8,391,000 = 6.3/100k. This is ~26% higher than the national average; New York;s 532 murder represent ~3.5% of all murders in the US whereas its population represents ~2.7% of the entire US - meaning that NYC is over-represented in murder by 29.6%.

"One of the safest places in the US"? What a joke.
:cuckoo:

I won't go to Cleveland if I'm not carrying.

Liberals are only worried about the rights they like - the rest are meaningless.
