Ohio bosses replace overtime with comptime!!!!

Don't forget healthcare. Wingnuts are all for you being gouged by the insurance industry.

MORE than they are by being GOUGED by the IRS if they don't COMPLY with the whims of the Imperial UnConstitutional FED?

Really Sarah? You wanna play this game?

Have the republicans in congress come up with a plan to stop big insurance from completely obliterating the middle class financially, Tom?

Your first problem is 'CLASS'...

Why paste 'CLASS' upon business?

C'mon Sarah? You're smarter than this.

If no one indulges a business for their practice? They don't survive...that's business.

*yawn*

"Big insurance". :cuckoo:

You are right. Only 90% of all personal bankruptcy filings are tracable in part to medical expenses.

TOTALLY a strawman argument.

Seems I was exaggerating, Zander. Please forgive me. These expenses are even less important than Gunny said.

No, we all need insurance because that is how the system was setup all those years ago. This is not something that you can just say you are going to take your business elsewhere.

Healthcare reform was supposed to be just that. It still can be.

Its a cop out, trying to bring back Slavery. Republicans love to sell out the workers even though they are selling themselves out in the end.

I'm a Republican, JFK. Mayhaps paint with a smaller brush next time?

No. I said what I meant. Its legalized slavery. There is absolutely no recourse for employees, should of put if you disagree with employer, you receive 50 lashings. I mean go all out. I mean horrible employees demanding a wage? How awful. Can't have that.

Republicans don't have all bad policy. But labor they are just terrible policy wise. Sell out the workers for a little profit. What if they work 60 hours one week and the next week they want to just work 20 and the employer says, work or be fired. What recourse do they have? How the hell can they afford a lawyer to take the business to court? These are mostly minimum wage workers so they are at the wilms of the employer. They will be fired if they don't accept comp time. This is legalized slavery. You are 110% wrong in this issue and Americans would be against this policy.

The land of milk & honey, has now become the land of DEATH & TAXES!!! hahahahahahahahahaha

You also have the right to start your own business that would keep you from being beholden to the whims or desires of anyone else.

This is such a flippant answer, Vel. It is not a real-world choice for most employees. I NORMALLY worked 50-60 hours a week; if I took a personal day and used comp time my employer was stunned. 60 hours a week became the "new 40" rather fast. (BTW during heavy work periods, 100 hours a week was not unusual.)

That means I GAVE him 20 hours a week, free of charge. Time I could have spent with my child. Time I cannot now get back. If he'd been paying me OT, you can bet your ass I would never have been "allowed" to work those hours.

Comp time, for most employees, is nothing more than the forced donation of personal time to the employer. It is wrong, IMO, unless the employee has the option to get paid if he prefers.

No Madeline that was not a flippant answer. Why would you think it's not a "real-world" choice for people? I've run my own business for more than 20 years now. Starting a business is not that complicated. Making it successful however.....

START MY OWN BUSINESS R U CRAZY!!!!

Then I'd have to pay out workers comp, worry about OSHA, business licensing fees, inventory discrepancies, Fed & State regulations, overhead cost, employees being sick, not showing up, fighting.

Hell NO, why would I want to start my own business, when I can make a living off my employers dime.

If that's really how you feel then be prepared to live by your employer's dictates.

Sure act like it. You see it all over the place on here. "Founding Fathers hated liberals" "America hates Liberals" "Liberals are the anti-christ"

Whats so horrible about sticking up for Middle class americans? To stand up for all forms of discrimination even if it doesn't benefit myself. Seriously they attack us like we are so foreign even though we are the ones that stick up for democracy, the ones that stick by the people.
