I almost busted out loud laughing about the irony of this statement from Obama:

RENO, Nev. (AP) - President Barack Obama said Thursday that the Justice Department will try to "root out" cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets, even as Attorney General Eric Holder suggested a variety of legal reasons may be behind gasoline's surge to $4 a gallon.

"We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain," Obama said at a town-hall style meeting at a renewable energy plant in Reno. Obama says new task force will examine gas prices

Course the funny thing about it is the White House is who's taking advantage of this for the long haul. He's been talking about the advantages of higher prices. Now he's really going to do something about it.

As usual the focus will be on rich speculators and traders, so Obama is taking advantage of this and eventually he'll be talking his usual class-warfare crap.

If anyone ever wondered how a despotic regime stays in power, it's by blame-casting.

In the Middle East several dictators have been using Israel and the U.S. as scapegoats for their terrible economies.

Currently Obama is on his excuses campaign. He claims he's never made any mistakes. He claims he wasn't aware of the huge road-blocks in his way. Maybe he should have explained the problem better. He was saddled with an economy that was worse then he thought ( although I can't see how it could have been more daunting then "The Worst Economy Since The Great Depression").

One reason is a large portion of the oil supply is threatened by the "Democracy" movement. It's a joke because it has nothing to do with Democracy.

But the biggest threat is the shrinking dollar, thanks to the spending and the failure to deal with debt.

Oh, and the fact that we seem to have a huge road-block in the White House keeping us from using our own oil in the United States. Domestic oil is being sent into the market and sold at a higher price then it would have been sold here. Obama isn't lifting a finger to do anything about this. As the dollar shrinks the price of gas goes up.

OPEC has done it many times. They've also cut production to drive up the price.

You're not paying attention.

I said the main reason was we aren't using our own supply here. If we did it wouldn't make as much difference.

Oil companies are just following the rules and selling our oil on the open market. Problem is the dollar isn't worth as much so oil profits are going up with the price, but only if you're looking at dollars.

Obama knows this, he's counting on it, and he's taking advantage of it.
