U.S. Economy Growing at Fastest Pace of the Year - Bloomberg

The U.S. economy may end 2011 growing at its fastest clip in 18 months as analysts increase their forecasts for the fourth quarter just a few months after a slowdown raised concern among investors.

Economists at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) in New York now see gross domestic product rising 3 percent in the final quarter, up from a previous prediction of 2.5 percent. Macroeconomic Advisers in St. Louis increased its forecast to 3.2 percent from 2.9 percent at the start of November, while New York-based Morgan Stanley & Co. boosted its outlook to 3.5 percent from 3 percent.

“The incoming data on consumption, business spending and residential investment all point to GDP growth in the fourth quarter tracking 3.3 percent,” said John Herrmann, senior fixed-income strategist at State Street Global Markets in Boston.

Good thing you have this whole supercommittee thing you can distroy the function of right now huh?

You tanked the economy in early summer with the debt ceiling thing and now you can keep recovery at bay with this little number huh?

Who the hell needs a merry christmas

what will you do if the country recovers in the next few months?

They will certainly do that. The Cons care nothing for the citizens of this nation. All they know is getting their way, and aiding the very wealthy. They will destroy the recovery just to attempt to destroy this Presidency.

It is time for every citizen of good conscience to get out and vote in a government that cares for the citizens of this nation.

Here's the rub. If the "Super Committee" fails..which it will..it activates a "trigger" which everyone agreed to implement.

Except now..Republicans are backing away from the "trigger" they agreed upon. Fancy that.

They will do whatever they can to prevent this country from thriving.

How very sick in the morals department the right has become.

When I was a kid there were decent honest republicans in the world who fought to make us great.

They kicked the asses of the corrupt democratic party of the day.

Now they are reduced to this.

So willow is just going to deny the facts becasue she is a poltical hack.

I ask again WHAT will you do if recovery is good enough to sink your partys chances?

Odumbo has spent over $4,000,000,000,000 since he's been president, the national debt just went over FIFTEEN TRILLION, unemployment is still at 9.1%, and there's a tiny upswing in the economy because of holiday spending, and all of a sudden TDM thinks that's some reason for her to celebrate?

Moron... unbeLIEVABLE fucking MORON... :eusa_hand:

Consumer Spending

Behind the revised fourth quarter forecasts: Consumers have not cut back on spending even with the turmoil in world financial markets, putting pressure on companies to rebuild inventories they ran down because of concerns about Europe.

Helped by the biggest jump in electronics purchases in two years, retail sales rose 0.5 percent in October, after a 1.1 percent increase the month before, according to the Commerce Department.

“We feel confident that the momentum we have heading into the fourth quarter, combined with our holiday strategies, bode well for that quarter,” said Karen Hoguet, chief financial officer for Cincinnati-based Macy’s Inc., the second-biggest U.S. department-store chain. “We’ll have a spectacular Christmas,” she added on a Nov. 9 conference call with analysts.

Companies, meanwhile, held their inventories little changed in September as sales climbed, the Commerce Department reported on Nov. 15. Businesses had enough goods on hand to last 1.27 months at September’s sales pace, near the record low of 1.24 months reached earlier this year. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...of-11-in-fourth-quarter-in-u-s-forecasts.html

Hey dummie, before you go celebrate you ought to look up the definition for the word "may".

The GDP went went up 3 percent and was projected to go up 2.5 percent.

Wow, huge gain!!!
:cuckoo:

Lets just see if the economy is still growing once the holidays are over.

If it is. Then we can celebrate.

Barry and his possee of nitwits will of course take any credit but really what the hell have they done??

Jack shits the answer to that one.
