Officials: Rep. Diane Watson plans to step down

LOS ANGELES—A Democratic Party official says Rep. Diane Watson is planning to retire from the House.
The Los Angeles congresswoman has scheduled a news conference in her hometown Thursday morning.

Several officials with knowledge of Watson's plans said she would announce she will not seek a sixth term.

I am all for retirements irrespective of party.

I think pensions for congresscritters should be reduced on a double declining balance basis after 14 total years service in DC. Down to zero by 21 years. After all the loot from that long, what need do they have for a pension anyway
