Occupy = Tea Party????

As a member of Occupy, I feel I should say that the Tea Party and Occupy have a lot more in common then right wingers will care to admit. For instance, in NYC I participated in a march that was at least fifty to a hundred people who were Ron Paul supporters chanting 'End the Fed'! It was quite a sight to see

No greater proof of the failure of Occupy is necessary than its former members pretending that they were just like the patriotic, law-abiding Tea Party.

R.I.P. OWS

Not really. This was earlier in October.

not even close..
the tea party DOESN'T OCCUPY what isn't theirs. Or go out of their way to DISRUPT peoples lives, jobs, (closing ports), trashing things, (burning the American flag).. etc etc.
nor do they have to go out and find PAID protesters..

How do you feel being USED?

On the contrary, I don't feel used at all. However, do you feel used when you consider that the Tea Party was co-opted by the Republican party for their own purposes, diluting their message until it meant absolutely nothing?

and your message is suppose to mean something?
you all already blew it..you allowed the Unions, the Socialist, the Communist, etc etc into your folds, now you are only laughed at.

Just polar opposites politically of a group that is very dissatisfied with standard operating procedures.
people that relate to the Tea party camp are older and more experienced, the youth of OWS not so much and it shows.

1. "Republicans are giving the conservative Tea Party movement a lot of credit for their success, but political analysts say the Tea Party could turn into a mixed blessing in the months ahead.

The Tea Party is not a political party but more of a grassroots conservative and libertarian movement dedicated to reducing the power and size of the central government in the lives of ordinary Americans.

The Tea Party movement does not have one leader and is made up of hundreds of small activist groups around the country, which in turn helped dozens of Republicans win congressional races on November 2nd."

2. "The American Tea Party movement is the biggest winner of Tuesday's election. Overwhelming victories by "We The People" candidates confirm the movement to be a powerful force forever changing the landscape of US politics.

No longer will Democrats and Republicans get away with conspiring together to make backroom deals, governing against the will of the people. The new battle cry of the Tea Party movement is "hold their feet to the fire"

3. The way in which you have been 'used' is:
a. OWS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Soros-adbusters-Tides Foundation.
b. You hardly represent any '99%' as the economics of most Americans has improved steadily over the decades
c. You may not realize it, but you are merely a serf in the Left's class warfare.

4. BTW....welcome to the board.

The left wing media tries to fit a round peg into a square hole with a completely inaccurate comparison just to soften the image of the OWS. A more accurate discussion would center around a comparison of today's democrat party and the old communist/socialist movement of the last century.

Here's more from those lovely folks that got the support of the the Left:

"PROVIDENCE, RI, January 30, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Demonstrators from the Occupy Wall Street movement threw condoms on Catholic schoolgirls, refused to allow a Catholic priest to give a closing prayer, and shouted down a pro-life speaker at a Rhode Island right to life rally on Thursday, according to its organizer. The event marked the third time protesters associated with the movement have disrupted a pro-life meeting in a week."

Think Obama and Pelosi are proud of third wards?

For a group that is all about fighting Wall Street and Bankers, they sure seem to be showing up in places and doing things that one would expect from a Left Wing Thug Orginization

The occupy movement so far is a classic failure. However if it is still in vogue in the spring and they can coalesce around a unifying theme and get the disinterested college students to get involved it could make this summer very interesting. With the Presidential race heating at the same time and the timeline for a war with Iran starting in June, could be an explosive summer reminiscent of 1968. The only thing missing is the psychedelic music and love ins.

Think the Dems will still want to be associated with 'em....?

1. For perspective, consider the famous Weathermen ‘Days of Rage’ protests of the Chicago 7 trial in October 1969. Planned as war in the streets, even the Black Panthers decided that these folks were too psychotic even for them. Fred Hampton, deputy chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP), said “We oppose the anarchistic, adventuristic, chauvinistic, individualistic, masochistic, Custeristic Weathermen.” Susan Braudy, “Family Circle: The Boudins and the Aristocracy of the Left,: p. 188

a. Too nuts for the Black Panthers, but they became respected advisors and co-authors to a Democratic President.

b. At a 1969 “War Council” in Flint, Michigan, Bernardine Dohrn gave her most memorable and notorious speech to her followers. Holding her fingers in what became the Weatherman “fork salute,” she said of the bloody murders recently committed by the Manson Family in which the pregnant actress Sharon Tate and a Folgers Coffee heiress and several other inhabitants of a Benedict Canyon mansion were brutally stabbed to death: “Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach! Wild!” Bernardine Dohrn - Discover the Networks

2. At other rallies, Dohrn said, "Bring the revolution home, kill your parents -- that's where it's at."

After a Chicago Democratic official, Richard Elrod, became paralyzed while fighting with a privileged looter during the Weathermen's "Days of Rage," Dohrn led the Weathermen in a song sung to the tune of Bob Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay":

Lay, Elrod, lay,
Lay in the street for a while
Stay, Elrod, stay
Stay in your bed for a while
You thought you could stop the Weatherman
But up-front people put you on your can,
Stay, Elrod, stay
Stay in your iron lung,
Play, Elrod, play
Play with your toes for a while.
Coulter, “Demonic,” p. 162-163.

3. Reminder: "Ayers and Dohrn are simply the most visible of the far left supporters who propelled Barack Obama's early political career."
Barack Obama and Bill Ayers

...and that's the Bill Ayers who wrote Barack Obama's 'autobiography.'

Please do not compare the Occu-tards to the anti-war protesters of the 60's

The 60's protesters were well organized, had a solid agenda, and were dedicated to their cause.

The OWS loons have no idea what they really want or how to achieve it. :cuckoo:

After a string of courtroom victories this year, the Occupy Philly movement felt the sting of defeat Wednesday, when 12 members were found guilty of defiant trespassing and conspiracy, stemming from a November sit-in protest at a Center City Wells Fargo Bank.

After a more than five-hour trial, Municipal Judge Marsha Neifield said she believed that prosecutors had proved their case, then announced the sentences for the 12 defendants: each is to pay a $500 fine plus court costs.

First convictions of Occupy Philly protesters

A few months ago, the judges didn't have the balls to convict these thugs. Now that the OWS has lost credibility, it's hammer time.

1. " The criminals are crashing the party. Lured by cheap drugs and free food, creepy thugs have infiltrated the crowd of protesters camped out in Zuccotti Park for Occupy Wall Street, The Post has learned. “I got warrants. I’m running from the law,” boasted Dave, 24, a scrawny, unshaven miscreant in filthy clothes from Stamford, Conn. “I’m not even supposed to be here, but it’s as good a spot as any to hide.” Wanted for burglary, the drug-addled fugitive said some of his hard-partying pals clued him in that the protest was a good place to be fed, get wasted and crash.” Squatters and drug addicts invade Zuccotti Park and Occupy Wall Street protests - NYPOST.com

2. “A rash of reports of sexual assaults at Occupy Wall Street protests across the country…Nearly a half-dozen assaults have been reported at Occupy camps, including three at the New York City protests,… The incidents of sex crimes, reports of petty theft, assaults and general outbursts of violence have sprung up not only around Wall Street, but in Occupy camps across the country….”Occupy Protests Plagued by Reports of Sex Attacks, Violent Crime | Fox News

3. “A young man was fatally shot Thursday evening just yards from the Occupy Oakland encampment outside City Hall. And before the ambulance had even pulled away, people were debating whether the killing was somehow linked to the month-old gathering.” Man shot to death near Occupy Oakland camp

4. Well over one hundred violent crimes including rapes, stabbings and murder committed at OWS sites…COMMON CENTS: OCCUPY WALL STREET document record of violence and criminal acts:

5. On the part of activists, there were also a few notable incidents of violence in the hundreds of camps, especially violence against women. The truth about violence at Occupy - Occupy Oakland - Salon.com

If luring people with cheap drugs and free food worked to increase the numbers at the ows sites, obama thinks it will work on the general electorate just as well.

I doubt the drugs were particularly cheap (except maybe in quality when the drug you're talking about is something you could logically cut). Typically when people go to deal at crowded, popular events, the bags are smaller per cost, as the dealers are expecting to be doing business with a lot of people they don't know (as opposed to their friends and regular clientelle) and thus don't pack the bags with the same quantity/quality as they would under normal circumstances.

6. Kevin Zeese and Dr.Margaret Flowers of OWS-DC reported in their blog, as Occupy Washington, DC | Human Needs, Not Corporate Greed, how 8 of 15 responding occupations reported Democrats had attempted to co-opt the occupation. This was removed from their blog, for some reason, but it is still online;

7. OWS-NY runs a forum, at Occupy Wall Street | NYC Protest for World Revolution, which consists of a long, single threadline, monitored by all kinds of cops, while trolled and moderated, by Obama-supporters, who trash the accounts and posts, of independents, whom the Democrats consider a worse threat, than pubs; Democrats infiltrated Nader 2004, to corrupt the signature drive, and sued Nader 2004, to keep Ralph off ballots, but Kerry lost, anyway.

The Democrats didn't learn anything, from Watergate, or from Romney, but how to imitate pubs, at their worst. Romney flipped on healthcare, Obama did private-insurer Obamacare, not energy policy, and he can't please pubs, no matter how many Muslims he pisses off and then kills, so we are liable to end up, with Meat on the table, cutting and refinancing, to make ends meat.

Here's the attractive Michelle, showing all the girls how to keep Bill Clinton doing policy, like deregulating energy, courts, and banks, which Obama bailed but didn't regulate; Jamie Dimon also likes this, and he can pay you for it, gals:

I just found out the Koch Bros. funded a study, which confirms global warming science is legitimate, and global warming is happening. They also have funded opposition, to the drug war.

Guess which bros are OK with me, so far? The ones which don't mess with traffic, at OWS occupations.
