AL-KHALIL,(PIC)-- The occupation authorities are due to release, on Thursday, the Head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Dr. Aziz Dweik, 64, from Ofer prison, west of Ramallah, and other Palestinian lecturers from Negev Desert prison.

The occupation authority informed Dweik's lawyer about its intention not to renew his administrative detention. The occupation has decided to release Dweik after ending his sentence, responding to the lawyer's petition to release PLC head Aziz Dweik due to his wife's health deterioration.

The occupation forces had arrested the Palestinian Parliament Speaker on 19 January 2012 at Jaba military barrier, as he left Ramallah, and turned him to administrative detention for six months.

The occupation forces have continued to detain 21 Palestinian MPs, two of whom are still at Al-Maskoubiya interrogation center.

The occupation forces have continued to detain 21 Palestinian MPs,

This is crazy. The PA has a 70,000 man security force that takes almost half of their budget. Yet Israel has kidnapped dozens of MPs and cabinet ministers without a cop in sight.

What's up with that?

Tinny, you get your news from the Palestine Information Center. That is not a reliable news source.

Israel freed the Hamas speaker of the Palestinian parliament Aziz Dweik on Thursday after holding him without charge since January, sources on both sides said.

"Dr Aziz Dweik was released at the Beit Sira roadblock," in the occupied West Bank, the head of his office, Bahaa Yusef, told AFP.

Israel Prison Service spokeswoman Sivan Weizman confirmed: "Mr Dweik has been released from Ofer prison."

Dweik's lawyer, Fadi Qawasmeh, said Israel had accepted his request not to renew his client's administrative detention for a further six months.

Duh, maybe the security forces know something you don't. Ever consider that. Then too, they could be double dipping; getting some under-the-table money from the Mossad to look the other way. What a conundrum.
