Obstructionist Republicans lose court battle!

Gerrymandering is a tried and true method BOTH PARTIES use to maintain control over their seats in the House.

It works so well that the DUELOPOLY is firmly entrenched in power.

Faulting one party for it, while pretending the other party doesn't do exactly the same is the height of partisan stupidity.

If the people of Califorinia aren't smart enough to realize that liberal Democrats have destroyed their economy then they deserve what they end up with. For the first time in it's history, California has more people moving out of the State than moving in. Wake up and smell the coffee, folks...you desperately need some fiscal discipline and you're not going to get it with super majorities of Democrats.

Alas there's no hope for Californians...the public sector has almost complete control over the private sector and will inevitably milk the Golden Goose to bones.

A sign of things to come for America..dependence and loss of freedoms.

BTW.. what you consider obstructionists, I consider freedom fighters..

I might write paragraphs explaining reality in response to your biased post which exposed your ignorance, but it would be a waste of words. Let me suggest that California has an economy as diverse as any state in the nation and will as always lead the nation in new ideas and innovation.

And in debt and in denial.

California has been at war with businesses for years. California has been responsible for the growth of business in Texas and Arizona for many years and will continue to see itself on the slide until it becomes some third world shithole with no industry whatsoever.

Part of the reason is that business owners are seen as republicans and democrats want to keep their majority. They are getting their wish. The governor, who once said the problem with California is that too many people have jobs, is going to give us the highest sales tax in the nation. No doubt the black marketeers are jumping with joy over that one.

The California Supreme Court ruled against the Republicans and exposes them to ridicule for their hypocrisy.

State Supreme Court spurns Republican request to keep old maps - San Jose Mercury News

"If they'd felt the same about Assembly seats, they would have done the same thing there and included them in the lawsuit, said Doug Herman, a Democratic political consultant for Assembly Speaker John Perez, D-Los Angeles"

To understand the hypocrisy comment and to put the above quote in context see the link above.

California is going to love the new taxes if the Democrats get their way. Either that, or the taxpayers will revolt again and force all new taxes to go through a public referendum.

Funny, Republicans go on about how bad California is, but that state still sends

California gets back $0.78 for every dollar it gives the federal government.

The Tax Foundation - Federal Spending Received Per Dollar of Taxes Paid by State, 2005

And they pay to the federal government much more than any other state.

Federal tax revenue by state - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not bad for a state right wingers say is falling apart. If Republican states could only pay as much as Democratic states, the country would be doing so much better.

Can I point out the obvious here. For shits and giggle I will ignore the obvious problems with your charts and simply assume they are accurate. Your chart actually proves that Texas pays a higher rate per capita in federal taxes than California.

Reverting to the old maps adopted in 2001 fails to reflect population shifts of the past decade and violates the constitutional principal of "one person, one vote," [the Supreme Court] wrote.

Very true.

The GOP's alternative maps have not been subject to the same level of public review as those of the commission, nor is there evidence they comply with state and federal guidelines, the justices concluded.

The justices also noted the irony in the GOP's argument that the court should save the state from unsavory partisan influence with a map proposed by a political party.

It’s obstructionism by means of the GOP being clueless and unprepared.

Funny how you never call Democrats leaving states to deny quorums obstructionism, even when it is flat out illegal.
