Classic despicable Chicago-Land move.

Obama shifts location of G-8 summit from hometown of Chicago to his Camp David retreat.

The White House abruptly announced Monday that it had scuttled plans to hold the upcoming G-8 economic summit in Chicago, and would instead host world leaders at the presidential retreat at Camp David in Maryland.

It was an unusually late location change for a large and highly scripted international summit and came with little explanation from the White House. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel — the former White House chief of staff who personally lobbied President Barack Obama to hold the summit in Chicago — was informed only hours before the official announcement.

White House national security spokesman Tommy Vietor simply said that Camp David, the rustic retreat in the mountains of Maryland, was a setting that would allow for more intimate discussions among the G-8 leaders. He said security and the possibility of protests were not factors in the decision, noting that Obama would still host the NATO summit in his hometown of Chicago from May 20-21.

The White House said the G-8 summit would take place May 18-19.

The White House announced plans last summer to hold both summits back-to-back in Chicago, giving the president a high-profile opportunity to tout his foreign policy and diplomatic credentials on his home turf in an election year...

Adding to the curious nature of the White House announcement was the fact that Obama rarely spends time at his presidential retreat. And unlike many of his predecessors, Obama has never hosted a world leader at Camp David.

Monday’s announcement appeared to catch many in Chicago by surprise.

Didn't want to get 'occupied' i guess. Everyone should watch 'The Obama Deception.'

Different means, but same intentions.

So you think President Obama wants to kill the demonstrators?

No, he just doesn't want them dissenting. This was a very dirty move. And if you can't see that, then there is no hope for you.

Dirty move?

Safe move. Do you recall you the Chicago Police handled the 68 convention protests. Hell I think he's looking out for the protestors.

The climax came Wednesday night, as a melee broke out near the Conrad Hilton Hotel across from Grant Park, and police began beating bystanders as well as protesters, using clubs, fists, knees and Mace. Some militants fought back with their own caustic sprays, bottles and concrete chunks, enraging police all the more. Officers pushed people through a plate-glass window and then, according to witnesses, attacked the dazed victims as they lay amid broken glass. A group of police cheered a soldier as he bashed a demonstrator and attacked a photographer who filmed the scene. About an hour later, film of the violence was shown at the Amphitheatre, with the effect of a thunderbolt. Sen. Abraham Ribicoff, at the podium to place Sen. George McGovern's name in nomination, decried the use of "Gestapo tactics." A livid Mayor Daley stood up as TV cameras zoomed in but what he shouted has never been precisely determined.

I think he was more worried about the Chicago police beating protesters to death than anything the protesters might have done. There have been signs lately of Rahm wanting to make an example of them at the G8.

You Obama-Bots are hilarious. You'll defend the indefensible at all cost. And you especially, should be ashamed of yourself. You should change your name from 'Occupied' to Sell-Out. You're a poser for sure.

This move is the most transparent thing Barry's done so far. Everyone knows the protesting and resulting destruction that's happened at other G8 locals over the years, and none of those cities had a '68 Dimocrat convention "police riot" on their resumes, the lack of which meant nothing to the rioting socialist hooligans. And Barry & Co. don't want voters in November with memories of mayhem in the streets of Chicago.

No one can get near Camp David without an invite, so they're feeling safe they've headed off a coming catastrophe. But not me. Just because there won't be any store windows to break, cars to burn, and whatnot like in an urban environment, what's to stop the protesters from trying? All they'd have to do is advance towards Camp D., get as close as possible, and at some point the authorities would have to stop them. And that's when the stuff would hit the fan.

Nah, the Dear Leader would have them labelled 'Terrorists' and they would all be rounded up locked away. It's an NDAA and Patriot Act World now. It's sad.

Everybody who doesn't follow your lead in lock-step is always the Obama-bot huh?

Or are you upset that now you can't use the expected police crackdown in another wornout tirade against this President?

It all came down to whether Obama would rather:

1. APOLOGIZE to the other G-8 world leaders for the gang-infested shit-hole that Chicago is.

2. APOLOGIZE to the other G-8 world leaders for the "rustic, informal" accommodations at Camp David.

I hope that Obama doesn't forget to bring extra Chapstick. Meeting with "world leaders" is very tough on his lips.

Yup, the Dear Leader is doing this for his own, err uh i mean their own good. You Bots crack me up.
