OBAMA'S war on the middle class

Statism is a readily accepted term.

.

Only on rightwing blogs, and amongst 22 year old white boy college libertarians.

No one else uses it.

Its a dead giveaway for somebody who voted for George Dumbya Bush twice, and worships at the alter of deregulation and trusting the free markets to police themselves.

That's me. And still the majority of Americans. Bush was simply an incompotent implementer of conservatism, because he ceased to be one almost immediately.

America is CENTER-RIGHT at it's core. all those Dems voted in come from RED states and had to run HARD RIGHT campaigns to win. They started out towing the party line but are now parting company and becoming closet republicans. the first big revolt was GUTTING Obama's GITMO plan. More is to come.....as America returns to it's Center-Right roots.

We are already paying more for healthcare than any other nation. So I guess dumbness is endemic, Willow?

PS - And we don't have near the best care either.

If Obama made a perfect plan, you would bitch just because he's a Dem. At least we had some real reasons to bitch about Bush - Almost 5000 dead American Patriots in Iraq.

YSFAR:lol:

there won't be any when pop up gets done,, you do realize your precious leader doesn't write the legislation,, he just throws his bullshit ideas at pop up and she writes more bullshit that no one reads then they all stand around bloviating on the floor of the congress acting like idiots,, they hired a speed reader no one will listen to cause they are jackazzes and in the end???? What do you get?? you get the chance to stand in line to get a heart bypass you might stand there til you drop dead even.. hell Canada is worried that we might actually pass this stupidity,, then they will have no place to run.. what a bunch of idiots,, it dosen't work elsewhere and it won't work here.
You swallow all the propaganda from the wingnuts. Canadians love their coverage.
France spends half as much as the US per capita on health care and is rated #1 in the world by the World Health Organization. The US ranks #37.

I don't understand your attack on the rich... If you don't like wealth and prosperity Cuba would be a good place to live, or maybe Mexico, Columbia, Russia...good luck

As is often the case you misread, the rich do well, defending them is unneeded, they are covered.

But to extend your assumption that those places are not good, can you compare poverty here and there and tell me which is better. How would you know. Or can you tell me that people in those nations are not happy and settled? Shopping at walmart may not be in the cards for them unlike you, but hey they could still enjoy life more than you seem to.

It;'s a LOT better here. We have NO poverty in the US. I;ve been to Khartum, Congo, Zimbabwe....and yes, HAvana and Haiti..

We have NO poverty in the US, not even a hint....

I often wonder what motivates people like Sarahgop to defend the rich because really that is all this is about. If you are rich you are not creating jobs, an underlying assumption in some of these debates. Rich people may own companies or stock or land that creates jobs but the riches do not do that. Take as an example Gates, MS crushed more companies than any business in my lifetime, MS outsources technical work, MS wants easier way to outsource or bring in workers - Gates' riches today are used for philanthropic purposes. All the wealthy people I know are not creating jobs, they are often enjoying the fruits of large stock sales, inheritance, or marrying way up the food chain. Boggles my mind why tools like Sarah continue this silly argument?

The rich get rich because of their merit.
Firedoglake » Newsflash: Ronald Reagan Raised Taxes (You Idiots)

"There is no historical evidence that tax cuts spur economic growth. The highest period of growth in U.S. history (1933-1973) also saw its highest tax rates on the rich: 70 to 91 percent. During this period, the general tax rate climbed as well, but it reached a plateau in 1969, and growth slowed down five years later. Almost all rich nations have higher general taxes than the U.S., and they are growing faster as well."
Tax cuts spur economic growth

That's moronic. There are tens of millions IT jobs that would not have existed had Bill Gates not come along.

The 91 percent tax rate only applied to earners income over $2.8M in 2008 dollars, and there were plenty more loopholes. Revenues to the Treasury doubled during Reagan's tenure.

The only thing you can say about that rate is that people avoided earning income in order not to pay it.

WTF? Bill didn't do it, MS didn't start the tech boom, IBM did if anyone, and even then ... it was because people liked technology so they bought it. Bill only managed to get some high paying contracts from people, he was a business genius that knew how to market products and get contracts, nothing more. That's why MS is going downhill now and will likely go the way of Egghead, he stepped down. No, the IT jobs are simply here because people wanted the tools, machines, and toys needing them.

Though Bill deserves all his wealth, he earned it, and is more than generous with it, like most billionaires, and that is what people who want to over tax them are missing.

nope, obama will soak all of us with new taxes. sadly, some people are too stupid to realize it.

that's why we call them DUmb! just smile and nod!
Eight years of Bush's tax cuts and excessive spending put us in debt. Even right wingers admit that. It's like taking a lower salary and spending your ass off. Voo Doo economics.
Do you make more than $250,000. a year? If not relax your taxes won't go up.

we have obama charging us around 1500 extra bucks for a car with his mileage program. we have obama doubling or tripling our electricity bills. obama is going to increase our gas tax to make up for the fuel mileage we save. obama, the filth, is forcing non union car dealers to lose everything so his labor goons can be safe. we can all agree obama is a lying jerk when he said he wasnt going to raise taxes on the middle class by a single dime. actually, this filth was right. he will raise our taxes by 3 or 4 thousand a year.
Thank Reagan for the decline of the middle class. Before Reagan a family could be supported with one income, and own a home.

At the time Reagan was in power there was a major change in the work force that had a much bigger effect than anything else, the work force doubled. Women hit the work force in mass that had never been seen before, pay went down for everyone and the single income family died. Blaming Reagan for the destruction of the middle class is asinine but not unpredictable from the imbecile leftist that swarm this board.

You do realize that the dipshit family in your avatar is rich, hell, momma can afford to spend 540 dollars on the ugliest sneakers I've ever seen, don't you? He dines on 16-ounce porterhouse steak, Wagyu beef, at 100 dollars a pound. She likes lobster and sending the kids to private school. He loves flying around on an aircraft that burns 2,500 gallons of jet fuel an hour, flew to Iowa to give a speech on Earth Day about conserving energy but burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel. Instead of adopting a rescued dog like he promised to do he accepted a 2,000 dollar puppy from a puppy mill. Your avatar family acts like the worst of the rich but uses our tax dollars to do it..... dipshits.

it's not so much a war on the middle class

it's a war on our ourselves that's been instituted here....

Oh, I don't know about that.

Some small percentage of the population is doing very well thanks to the policies which are destroying the middle class.

Yes, .... we are.... Sucks to be you, I guess......

well he's right, there's always that small % in any massive failure that makes out okay

however in our current economic debacle, they are doing so at the expense of the middle class

this is why i post that top 1%

not the top 10%

not the upper quintile

those stats confuse the issue, and hide the perps from being revealed

1% of 1/3 billion populance is a lotta folks too

and like anywhere else, they've managed a fine marriage of wealth and power here

but the real trick is, how do they laugh all the way to the bailout without us catching on?

they keep us targeting each other, evident in all the idiot wedge issues and generation(s) of social engineering.....

but i digress, for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure) my manifesto of discontent fits nicely here....

An interesting , and not totally unexpected result of the economic deathspiral upon us seems to have grown it's own maggots like trash left out in the heat. As the {former} middle class lifeboat shrinks , the sqaubbling blame game among it's occupants has esculated to mutinous proportions.

First they came for the partisans, people who base all their faith in what , for all apperances is, a democratic republic. But each and every election has shown us only two choices, which out of 1/3 billion citizens is not only much of a choice to begin with, but choices that are lobbyied so relentlessly by concentrated wealth that they are essentially, after the rethoric is stripped off, the same choice.

Yet the general populance historically venting their discontent via huge party swings, has been repeatedly subjected of late to a stymied efficy mired in broken campaign promises of change equating to a new spin on old problems with the same undertones of collusion.

But we did not speak, because our superficial political mentality crippled us from delving into the magnitude of detail following the $$$$

Next they came for clarity and transparency, obsfuscating every law, parlaying every bill into unreadably extranious legaleese , much to the benifit of special intrest inclusions , to be presented to a legislature for 11th hour votes, with little to no time for detailed reflection . One of our shining examples are our tax codes, which has evolved into a specialty service for the upper echelon with more hidey holes than dones has pills, while the servant class continues it's generic H&R block fare

Despite the growing disparity, the tax nazi's came for the little guy next, fueled by nieghbor v. lifeboat neighbor's discontent that a small crumb from the ruling class might go undetected , while the simple fact that wall street socialism for the rich / capatilism for the rest of us would result in spending the next generation into debt flew right over their heads
But we did not speak, because we idolized greed, and worshipped mammon

Next they came for our freedoms, all with orwellian twists like free speech zone, patriot act, employee free choice act, literally changing the meaning of words by degree....all goaded on by jingoists who were more than willing to have their fellow lifeboaters walk the gangplank , for a pat on the head & a little security
But we did not speak , and gave up innocence until proven guilty , despite those freedoms being paid for in blood

Next they came for Lady Justice, polluting our system of liberty for one and all equally by introducing celebrity justice's deeper pockets , media mayhem, and further appointing judicals for the sake of ideology than integrity. But we did not speak , because we accepted hollywoods moral bankrupcy, and thus became as blind as lady justice herself to our own fundamentals

Next they came for our jobs, claiming the trickle down effect of outsourcing would eventually benifit the collective, which reduced a healthy producer nation to a consumer nation. The result of prostituting a third world working force's view of America and Americans creating a wot backlash inversley proportional to the torch of freedom our fathers and grandfathers presented them with. And now our nation's dollar may fall from being a benchmark in the global fiat's monetary consortium via the IMF's SDR. But we did not speak because as this occured they focused our attentions on the immigrants stealing our jobs

Next they came for our homes, yet despite predatory lending practices of our fiscal institutions, they threw us to the sharks claiming our inability to keep up due to living lavish wanton lifestyles beyond our means. But we did not speak because keeping up with the Jones's was what we were social engineered to do

Next they came for our kids, moving the educational goal posts making them less competitive in a market with less opportunity, subjecting them to a war on drugs with extreeme police state implimentations that no sane country has. But we did not speak, because we were perfect children raised without such strife

Next they came for our seniors, who after being subjected to our pharmacabal's consistent influence, would systematically be drained of all their assets and packed off into their own tidy scuttle to meet their ends. But we did not speak, because walton mountain is merely the nuclear families defereed entertainment now

Next they changed the labels, radicalizing terms like conservative, liberal, christian and jew or muslim so that each would view the other with contempt. But we did not speak because it was simply easier to turn one's back on a brother, than to address the institutionalizing of misathropic mannerism where a patriot can love his country and hate half the people in it

And so it seems we are really at war with ourselves now, a balkanized homogonized citizenry adrift in what was once a country that could achieve a collective direction. So when they come for those of us left in this raft of straw, who will be left to speak for us?

Tell me how much the middle class could afford with the double digit inflation and double digit interest rates which peaked during the Carter admnistration.

Did you post that to let us know you're happy that the nation is going down the crapper?

Okay, so noted.

You hate your fellow Americans.

No actually Apple was the first personal computer company that opened up that market.

IBM didn't even make a PC until Apple had created the PC market into something real.

IBM totally missed the boat on the PC market, actually.

But whatIBM did for that industry is give that market DOS, since when they choose MS DOS all the also-rans (except Apple) followed suit.

How old are you?

IBM licensed MS-DOS from Microsoft and still does. Nothing that runs on it has anything to do with IBM. The train passed them by as far as hardware goes years ago.

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are rich guys who created more jobs than Barack Obama could ever promise to.

No, he should get the hell out of the way and stop pretending that government picking the winners and losers in the economy will work.

How else do you think we are going to pull ourselves out of this recession. Not that I am for tax hikes, but it's the past 8 years under Bush that has put us in this situation. But who cares about that now right? Let's just rag on the guy who is trying to fix it.
