Obama's ratings drop as gas price soar

OK, why are gas prices so high? We have plenty of refinery capacity, we are drilling and pumping enough oil that our biggest export is now refined petroleum products, as in gasoline and diesel. Have any of you wingnuts ever heard of supply and demand? As in a worldwide demand for a commodity that is in shrinking supply? And isn't this the free market that all of you love so much?

So, what is your solution? Government controls on the price of fuel? Nationalizing the oil companies and not allowing exports? What are you solutions, wingnuts?

How about we remove those moratoriums on drilling that Obama decreed and then we might not have your "shrinking supply". Sounds like the beginnings of a solution.

Look for a concerted media campaign attacking all those concerned about or mentioning rising gas prices. Something on the order of the Three Monkeys routine, "Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Do No Evil" Reading 'Alice In Wonderland" would be an excellent primer for the age of Obama. Or a Joseph Goebbels biography "If you tell a lie often enough, the people will believe you"

Or better yet, how about a carefully crafted, highly flattering puff piece on just how exquisitely thought out Barry's Bracket Picks for the upcoming NCAAs are. He's da man, yano!

True.. So now all we need is for Obama to get out of the way and quit impeding the "free market". It is the Obama moratorium on much drilling that is keeping the supply artificially low, after all.

“Contrary to popular belief, America has more energy than any nation on earth. All that’s keeping us from becoming energy independent is a lack of political will to do so.” – Newt Gingrich

Today’s high gas and energy prices are entirely a function of bad government policies. Newt has an American Energy Plan that would maximize energy production from all sources–oil, natural gas, wind, biofuels, nuclear, clean coal, and more–and would encourage clean energy innovation without discouraging overall energy production.

Newt’s American Energy Plan:
1. Remove bureaucratic and legal obstacles to responsible oil and natural gas development in the United States, offshore and on land.
2. End the ban on oil shale development in the American West, where we have three times the amount of oil as Saudi Arabia.
3. Give coastal states federal royalty revenue sharing to give them an incentive to allow offshore development.
4. Reduce frivolous lawsuits that hold up energy production by enacting loser pays laws to force the losers in an environmental lawsuit to pay all legal costs for the other side.
5. Finance cleaner energy research and projects with new oil and gas royalties.
6. Replace the Environmental Protection Agency, which has become a job-killing regulatory engine of higher energy prices, with an Environmental Solutions Agency that would use incentives and work cooperatively with local government and industry to achieve better environmental outcomes while considering the impact of federal environmental policies on job creation and the cost of energy.

Right there is one of the totally absurd Fox lies. Speculators are buying and selling oil right now on April-May futures. They have one helluva lot more to do with the price of gasoline than any American president has ever had.

Whether or not oil and gas prices are obama's fault, what he says is that all we have to do is adopt his vision of ineffective and expensive green energy and we won't object to the price so much. He says it every time in every speech. New technologies take time and we must pay the price to have his vision of the world he wants to create.

When obama says that he's doing everything he can to bring the price of gas down, everyone knows that's a lie. What he says is really "I'm trying very hard to convince everyone to buy an electric car or hybrid if you don't like the price of gas". This is very close to Jimmy Carter's solution to the gas crisis he created being to tell everyone to put on a sweater if they're cold". This is why obama is being blamed for high gas prices, among other things.

Why is it when markets - the gawd of the right - work as they do, it is Obama's fault? If you drive pay up, but take my advice, bicycles are cheap over a year, get one or shut up as you are the one causing the price to rise, as you are the one willing to participate in this particular market.

They never have caught on. The price of gasoline is supply, demand, speculation etc.

Last year in China alone there were more than 1,000,000 new vehicles. There has not been an increase in federal gas tax in 15-20 years. In European countries the tax on a gallon of gasoline is ten times what it is here. The lies that Fox News and the Republican candidates are telling right now are one of the proofs of their desperation.

It's always the Republicans who scream "let the market decide."

I have to laugh at you being a double faced douche.

This was explained many times years ago, and you now just caught on.

Gas prices around here were around 2.59 a gallon late last week 2.79 a gallon Today I don't blame Presidents for high gas prices but the fact is they do get the blame for them if this trend continues into late October and November Obama will be hurt by it.

One issue. On the whole he's The Comeback Kid.
.....And, "conservatives" are the new minority!!

"It turns out that most Americans don’t actually blame the President for the high gas prices—at least so far. This, according to a Bloomberg National Poll out today. Sixty-six percent of the 1,002 adults surveyed say that “the oil companies and Middle East nations who are taking advantage of [tensions with Iran] to make more money” are most responsible for higher gas prices."

I guess the campaign slogan will be "I killed Bin Laden".

Let's see how that works out...

How's it that you're $1 under the national average?

Heard on the news this morning that Barry is gonna address high gas prices.

Good thing its an election year or Barry wouldn't bother.

Faux Noise Gets
PUNKED!!!

"Fox polled registered voters on whether they believe the claim President Obama purposely wants higher gas prices.

"Fifty percent said that price spikes make President Barack Obama “unhappy” “because the American people will suffer from the high cost of filling their tank,” while only 31 percent said the prices make him “happy.” The poll also finds that 58 percent of Americans think the economy has turned around, while 52 percent said the the Obama administration’s rejection of a Keystone XL permit is not responsible for higher prices."
