Obama's Policy On Jobs Forced Shooter With Neuroscience Degree To Work At McDonalds

Thinking about what the extremes of right and left have produced in the world, it is highly amusing to see and hear Americans accusing other Americans with a slightly different political and economic outlook (and I mean really little!) of being 'left' or 'right' wing. Extreme is even funnier.

There is no extreme left or right in America!

The KKK doesn't really qualify as a political movement, since the requires thought, but even that group is not extreme right (just extreme).
Trotskyists, Maoists are extreme left, and they even exist in some countries without too much problem.

America needs divergence of ideas and new solutions. It isn't going to get those from the same old same old.

Economists looking at the candidates' policies say they wouldn't get a passing grade in E 101. They trot out trite dicta from the past that have little relation to now and tomorrow.

Technology is present to make a better, more decentralized life for all, but is held back by the powers that be (centralized).

Society and thought have not evolved at anything like the pace of capacity to do, so we are now doing things we don't understand and know that we don't understand.

What is needed is different.
Different scares the hell out of people.

His frustration with lack of work could have played a part, but i think our Nation's obsession with glorifying War and violence probably played a bigger part. We like to preach Peace while at the same time waging War all around the World. We are a violent Warring Nation. It is what it is. Peace & Liberty is the way forward. Separating people from 'hell' sounds good. If 'different' will get it out of them, let's go!

It looks like Obama's economic policies can't be counted out as part of the reason James Holmes finally snapped. According to many sources, he was brilliant and was at the top of his class with the highest honors. He graduated in Neuroscience and had a promising future.......or did he under the Obama Administration? It looks as though he couldn't find a job in his field and was forced to take work part time at a McDonalds, a place that encourages minority employees. He must have felt humiliated having to stoop that low with such a high caliber college degree. This boils down to Obama's policies pertaining to job growth. It is non existent and he has refused to work with republicans on the issue in order to stimulate job growth. This is a sad day and the President should sit back and ponder that it is his policies that are pushing people on the brink. Massive foreclosures, high unemployment and affirmative action hires over qualified applicants like Holmes is a ingredient for disaster. This tragedy reminds me of the movie 'Falling Down' with Michael Douglas. The blame should partially be aimed at Barack Obama and his policies.

What We Know About Colorado Shooting Suspect James Holmes - National - The Atlantic Wire

Reuters' Stephanie Simon and Marty Graham reported that he "couldn't find a job after returning to San Diego several years ago. For a year or so, he worked part-time at a McDonald's, according to Tom Mai, who lives near the Holmes family in San Diego."

What his friends say: NBC Bay Area tracked down some of Holmes' friends from high school, who said he went by "Jimmy." One named Sumit Shah, who said she was close with him, said, "he was pretty shy, but once he got comfortable with you, he was the funniest, smartest guy… He always had something witty to say." One San Diego neighbor called him "happy and smiling" and another said he was a "nice kid."

Can we just simply not try to politicize this? It doesn't matter what this guy's personal situation was, because HE was 100% responsible for his actions. People who are looking for a "trigger" to this type of behavior are doing nothing more than absolving people of their personal responsibility. The only thing all people truly have control of is their own reaction to life.

Not to argue, merely clarify: America is not a warlike country, and historically 'the people' have shied away from war. Various administrations throughout time, for various purposes, have led the US into doubtful and even outright illegal conflicts.

When you have the biggest military on earth, there is too much temptation to use it. Power corrupts...

Whatever isn't the fault of Republicans is, necessarily, the fault of Democrats. That's the two party system!
Get rid of both!

Budget cuts demanded by the Republicans dried up research funds on which a person in his position depends. The Obama stimulus contained money for medical research. Total OP FAIL!

:eusa_angel:Well if Ubama had any brains he would of had the money from the stimulus going toward this instead of wasteing it on something like Solyndra.

Here we go,..A preview of what the right wing trash is going to be spreading all day

"The shooting happened because of Obama"

:lol:Kind of like what the left usually always says. "Everything is Bush's fault."

Guess what - you're both right.

At what point does our political discourse evolve beyond this?

When the "other guy" does it first?

.

Do you even bother to read the shit you post?

Holmes was a PhD candidate at the University of Colorado, Denver, studying neuroscience. The Wall Street Journal confirmed with a university spokeswoman: "Holmes had begun attending the neuroscience program in June 2011, but had decided to leave in June of this year, said the spokeswoman, Jacque Montgomery. 'He was in the process of withdrawing from the university,' Ms. Montgomery said, declining to elaborate."

In any case..when you are GOING TO COLLEGE..it's tough to be hired at a good job.

I worked as a Mover/trucker when I was going..because of the flexible hours.

It offered shitty pay and no benefits..as well.

Look I dont really believe the OPs point, but it is funny and you leftwingers get soooo insulted by it. I guess the truth is close by. IT would be nice to have some jobs in this country, but then the NLRB doesnt want jobs going to right to work states and nonunion employees thus making people flee, union work sucks, just does. Hell even Hollywood made fun of it in Gung Ho! with leftwing Michael Keaton.

What made good paying jobs flee this country..were low paid highly educated workers overseas.

Heck..in this country, Americans have to compete with low paid H1Bs.

Membership in Unions are at historic lows. Just like taxes.

The more you post the dumber you appear; do you actually thin...err... believe a single cause can explain the horrific event of yesterday?

If you do your even dumber than I think you are.

IMO, union strength should be curbed to match the severity of the recession. Unions push too much. When my dad was around he worked in Georgia as a welder under a Union. He despised it.

Working at McDonalds would drive anyone crazy. You can tell which posters on this Board currently work there. You know who you are.

Holmes had some problems. For one thing, he could hardly get a job as a scientist until he was a scientist and had completed grad school. Now he has only an undergrad degree. And that degree is from UC Riverside, an acknowledged third string school. The qualifications for Riverside are such that the UC system was considering having the tuition there lowered so allow third rate students university access. Had the degree been from UC Irvine, it might have been different. Either he couldn't get into UCI, or didn't want to face the extreme racism from the predominently Asian students.

Likely he was just insane. Liberals believe in a civil right to be insane that should be unmolested by the sane.
