Obama's not coming to get your guns! What now?

Guns, high powered ones in the hands of Americans, are the only thing left keeping a Tyrannical Gov't at bay. That's why they wanna' take them.

.

Oh, yeah....right. I'm sure the Department of Defense stays up all night worrying about a bunch of Nuttard's with deer rifles.

Exactly. The military had .50 cal mounted on tripod back when i served > 20 yrs ago. They aren't losing sleep over someone w/ small arms. The gov't has other non-lethal crowd control methods as well as the rightiosts cheered them on for using against Wall St protesters

Do you have a link of the US Military using crowd control methods against Wall Street protesters?

The NG were on alert in CA, weren't they, before public opinion made the authorities stand the units down?

Here's what the President has recommended Congress do and what he will do through Executive action and Orders.

As you can see...he's not coming to get your guns. In spite all the anguish, weeping, wailing and predictions of dire days ahead, he's actually proposing very little which is new. In fact, you might even say this response is a little tepid and it has disappointed the most rabid gun grabbers.

What say you now? Will you apologize for all the manure you've spread, for all the lies you've told, for bombarding us with your facile, simplistic, ideologically driven conspiracy theories?

i thought not. After all...it's STILL Obama....ain't it?

To be done by executive action:

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.

11. Nominate an ATF director.

12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.

15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

Many of those proposals have been approved by the NRA.

And not one of them is unconstitutional.

The rabid right has destroyed its integrity and its credibility on constitutional matters during this past week. Pretty stupid tactic now that the real issues are on the table, and not the ones they drank so greedily from their piss buckets.

They flunked themselves right out of the upcoming debate.

oh brother..

everything is the rabid right..what a hack

Oh hey another stepth one off.this is some real In depth thoughts you have. You have zero solutions.

Obama didn't do what he was threatening to do because he knew he'd lose the fight. If anything, HE caved.

Background checks on private sales, banning >10 round clips and mags, banning assault weapons. that isn't a cave by any definition of the word.

Hopefully throught the good work of the NRA, he won't get any of that either.

Great so if a terrorist goes and buys a gun through a private sale and goes and shoots up a mall. We can toss you in jail as well for allowing it.

The 2nd doesnt protect you from background checks cumstain.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

Pay attention, people!

That's HIPAA -- you know, the act that is supposed to protect your health-care privacy? So now, your background check will include substantial delving into your medical records. In order to buy a firearm you will be required to give up your privacy -- which, by the way, is another Constitutionally-guaranteed right. So, do you really want to be forced to trade one right for another?

Remember, people who pass background checks by current standards are already law-abiding citizens -- so the above is tantamount to "search" without cause or evidence of any crime.

So, now they can seize firearms from law-abiding citizens, and hold them "until a full background check" has been processed? I assume that means that they can seize any firearms, anywhere, even in your home?

A better idea would be to allow school employees (who already pass the most stringent background checks possible) to concealed-carry if they have permits. Had only ONE of the office personnel at Sandy Hook been carrying a firearm, Lanza would never have made it to that classroom.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

"Maximize"? WTF does that mean? Does it mean that now, instead of simply responding to reports of crime, law enforcement is now supposed to... what? What does this mean?

Now instead of asking where I hurt, my doctor's going to be nosy about my weapons...

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

... and if I say "where I hurt is in my rear, 'cause it's a pain in the ass to answer all these questions about my firearms when all I have is osteoarthritis in my knees!", is my doctor going to report that I became "violent"?

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

Is "resource" code for "armed security"?

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

How's this for a plan: Allow permitted school personnel to concealed carry.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

Or maybe, INCREASE those services?

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

WTF?

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

WTF???

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

WTF?????

Seems reasonable to me.

If Obammy's mouth be movin', he be lyin'. He's the "Wolf in sheep's clothing" and the Greek's Trojan Horse all rolled into one. The country is apparently defenseless against him. Whenever the media thinks about him, the males have erections, the females have orgasms.

How about you stop whining long enough to answer the question?

Which came first gun confiscation or gun registration?

i really don't care.

I've made my opinion about gun control known already, and we all know you want nothing changed at all.
You are the problem.
