Now instead of being a typical ignorant liberal, search on that and really do some research on the 120 BILLION plus barrels of oiil that is there waiting to be removed. Then search on the OIL SHALE in Utah. And please don't tell me how we can't use it. Conoco Phillips has already developed a way to get the oil out of the tar sands. Exxon Mobil is working on a way to get it out of the Oil shale. That alone gives us MORE OIL reserves than Saudi Arabia.

I just love it when liberals tell us how there is no oil. There is no oil because they won't let us go get it. Imagine the jobs that it would create, not just in oil and gas, but all different kinds. They use Catepillar trucks to move the tar sands. Course, it's a liberals nightmare. Energy independence, jobs, more tax revenue. Keeps most of them up at night.

Yes, thats exactly what a good president would do. He publicly stated that the reason he doesnt do this is because all congress would do is bicker. As if it would be any different after the vacation time? He has 0 plans to lead on this issue. He is hoping congress does nothing and after the gridlock sets in the across the board cuts will kick in and he wont have to do any of the hard work of making the reals choices. He will be able to sit back and point his finger at congress by noing nothing. He is so transparent its pathetic.

Obviously, that creates somewhat of a gray area as every time he travels his bill is picked up by the taxpayer. So there are rules in place delineating what is and is not an official campaign event. This is not an official campaign event, despite the right wing bitching about it. And if it is, or the rules have been broken somehow, never fear; you have a house full of nutty right wingers who are just dying to investigate the president for something, anything. I mean, we are going to investigate Hollywood now.

At any rate, I am pragmatic enough to acknowledge that every time a politician meets with constituents, it's "campaigning". That's just the nature of the beast. It's not any different then a congressperson flying back to their district for "Townhall meetings".

I know what she is talking about. I am asking for some figures that would demonstrate that would create sufficient revenue to pull us out of the hole. The second question is if it's worth depleting a finite resource at this time for that purpose.

I'd rather watch the middle east go dry first before we tap into our stuff.

No, what you said was that drilling now wouldn't create jobs. If you knew anything about the energy industry, you would see that your hypothesis is ridiculous at best. They want to build a pipeline from those tar sands in Canada to the refineries in Texas. Imagine the jobs that such a pipeline alone would create. No, that wouldn't benefit the Democrats at all. Well paying jobs for thousands. Doesn't create any dependency does it? A nightmare for liberals and a repudiation of the ridiculous assertion that the government creates jobs.
